An edited version of v18a for a better, older brutal doom experience
If you have been following this project, you may have been a bit surprised that things have changed significantly. I decided to get rid of this mod because I'm working on an even better version. In its place, I'm, putting up an edited version of v18a. The changes added in this version of v18 are minor, yet give the player the best possible classic experience. This is the feeling I'm trying to capture in my improved version of classic Brutal doom, with a bunch of improvements included from v21. Enjoy! (Hopefully no one misses the old classic brutal doom)
v18e:
-fixed some texture glitches and other bugs
-implemented v19 fixes for textures, so some v18 textures will be replaced with the v19 versions
v18d:
-toned down chaingun recoil by alot
-there is now a v21 map enhancement addon
-chainsaw sound effect has also been edited
v18c:
- added reload sound effects to SSG
- armor sprites changed as well
v18b:
-removed the tomb raider secret found sound effect
-used v19 versions of health vials and extra armor pickups
-Menu logo is that of v19 and higher
-added an addon that will increase the bullet capacity back to 600 and eliminate recoil on minigun

Thank you. I always liked the slight jankiness of the older versions.
The only minor issue I do have is that weapon selection isn't as smooth as it perhaps could be. In particular, changing from the shotgun to the minigun seems a little jerky.
I realize now going back that I accidentally deleted some stuff for the shotgun. This jerkiness should only happen for the shotgun and will be fixed in the next update which should be very soon.

Fixed it. I also removed Dual weapons again after re-adding them by accident.

Your altetations to this mod is awesome. A couple of requests:
1. I can't switch to a new weapon i just picked up instantly even with switch on pick up turned on except for the single shotty. Dont know if this is a problem or not but if u could fix this it would b better.
2. Please raise the rifle/minigun ammo max capacity back to 600.
To me these two things are what is keeping this mod from being, "CLASSIC BRUTAL DOOM PERFECTED". hopefully u will resolve these. 😀😀😃😃😝😝.
I like the less ammo approach, but if you are speaking for the people, than I will create an addon, or a version of the mod with the 600 capacity. As for the instant weapon switch, I don't really know what the issue is. I'll have to look into it.
Well now that this mod is based on bd18, i had some questions in regards:
1.is it compatible with zandronum 3.0 , gzdoom 2.1 or other older souceports ?
2.is the miniguns horrendous recoil/ muzzle climb from the original bd18 fixed?

Is there no way 4 u to atleast get rid of the vertical muzzle climb of the minigun ? If it was'nt 4 this 1 caveat,bd18 would b beyond perfect.

I will create an addon that reduces the problems you have mentioned. It will increase the ammo capacity to 600, and the recoil will be gone.

Hai again. Just can't express how much fun i'm having with ur mod (especially with the extra adddons u provided) . A tiny question, is it possible 4 u to add bd v.19/20 like gibbing and dismemberment in here? Thanks.
I don't know. Probably not. You could just check out my improved version of classic brutal doom. It has everything good about v18 and more
