Description

since artillery regiments in Uncommon Valor had become rather overpowered I took the liberty of changing all of the Soviet artillery tanks into direct fire weapons. this means that they can no longer use the bombard command. it seemed a simple, and necessary change, in light of how tough Soviet artillery tanks were in the mod. they still benefit from the Maelstrom and Mechanized/Artillery Advance special ops. and they are still vulnerable to the Counter Battery Fire special op. the only thing I had to change was change the bombard flag from "true" to "false". it does a great deal to balance out the game play.

this is a line up of the new Soviet artillery division HQ. since artillery tanks are now essentially assault guns capable of direct fire support - I decided to add in some different historically based units. we have the 107 mm howitzer, the tracked chassis weapons in 152 mm, 203 mm, and 280 mm in the background. to help make these regiments less over-whelming I've replaced some of the infantry units with a tow-truck and some munitions trucks. this means that in a straight-up close-quarters fight even traditional recon infantry should be able to drive them back... if they're upgraded with a special op or two.
