I've been revising the Japanese faction a bit... and have added some new units. we've still got the old flamethrower tank for Japan-- but this time I tried to give it more of a unique look. it's not exactly historical - but the actual appearance of that tank isn't something I can pull off!
I've found that using a reskinned T-70 does a fairly good job of representing the Japanese airborne tank. and since I've been researching Japanese occupation forces in Manchukuo I felt like adding the Type 92 Armored Car.
the Japanese AA infantry shown here is something that theharkkonnen made years ago that I simply forgot about. then I realized that I could very easily turn this into the double-barreled AA machine gun for Japan.
I'm getting rid of the Imperial Guards division and replacing it more along the lines of Army vs Navy.
since Japanese mechs and tanks are still pretty awful... I've tried beefing up the faction with some new types of artillery units... hence the type 89. it will have 90 points of blast damage and a range of 180. like all artilery units in the mod, it will have a self-inflicted damage attack so that it can't fire continuously throughout the whole game.
The japanese flame tank (SS-Ki) is based on the I-Go medium tank. IIRC you should have the tank model in your mod.
The japanese prototype airborne tank is actually soppose to be the "Ku-Ro".
we actually don't have the Type 89 I-Go in the mod yet. probably should have it, though. either way, getting those odd rake devices on the model would be tough.
hmm... I've found "Ke-To" in a couple of sources, though. it would have necessarily been delivered by gliders.
