A.R.E.A. is a standalone project based on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy. The project affects all aspects of the game with no exceptions, improving their quality and diversity. The main goal was to create a more realistic Exclusion Zone, where each trip will be a unique and rough experience.

Install guide:
1. Download S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - A.R.E.A. 1.1642, unpack where you wish.
2. Run S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - A.R.E.A.part1.exe, specify the installing location and click Extract.
3. Download this update in A.R.E.A. root directory, run and press Extract, replace all files.
4. Run game from desktop or A.R.E.A. Launcher from game folder.

-Reworked the system of artefact degradation, now artefact degradation is carried out taking into account the game time. Removed artifact_degradation.script, now all the logic is in bind_artefact.script.
-Reworked food spoilage feature.
-Reworked item wetting system. Now any item can get wet, not only bullets and bills. Added parameter for item resistance to moisture.
-Reworked NPC's best weapon selection, optimised code. Added calculation of distance for current weapon depending on radius of A-life.
-Improved NPC's weapon selection logic. If an NPC doesn't have ammo for his current weapon, he will choose the next highest priority weapon. If there are no weapons with ammo, he will choose the melee weapon.
-Improved NPC logic. If they don't have a weapon, then they will not go to finish off the wounded.
-Improved English localization.
-Improved the calculation of the shot materials.
-Decreased block height under the text in the item's pop-up window.
-Removed the need to restart the game when changing a number of settings.

Helo, HAPY NEW YERA TO ALL AREA TEAM!!!!! I palyed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - A.R.E.A. 1.1647 Update and noticed that new mp5a3 had problem with magazines. In past I mentioned that after modification of gun to take diferent calibers doesent work. I am not far in 1.1647 game play to say if all weapon modification to take diferent ammo is broken. I realy know karabinier 63 (if name is corekt its german world war II sniper weapon) THAT WEAPON WORKS because it is loaded like shotgun. Recriver takes isnted of german ammo, it takes 7.62x54r. Problem with other guns is THEY TAKE MAGAZINES. And thing is that nato weapons may load into reveiver diferent ammo after modification (soviet ammo). But my mentioned mp5a3 dosen't take any 9x18 magazines. Stok mp5a3 takes 9x19 no problem. But to use mofified gun to shoot 9x18 is imposible because original magazine dosen't take modified ammo. Logick sugest it should take vz submasine gun magazine. For me personaly game is almost perfect. To get to 110% will need to enable for 5.56 weapos and 9x19 and 7.62x51 to take coresponding soviet ammo. Main enemy in game monolith fighters uses soviet weapons. And thing is I would like to be able to use nato weapon to shoot soviet ammo. I luked into 1.1693 update discription and dosent find optick fix for m14ebr, or taktical ots rifle with integraded granade louncher in 5.45x39. I will try new werson of area and let you know wich weapon works and wich doesen't

Yeah, bruvah mistakes like this are because the "devs" of this mod were too busy reengineering their mod to deliberately break other modders A.R.E.A addons. Only so many hours in the day to make the world a better place, gotta concentrate on what matters.
The kindergarten level fact that without the work of other modders being deliberately engineered to be OPEN to any and all other modders adaptions, addons, and modification, these guys would not even have a platform to work from in creating their mod seems to have not made it through these guys moral and intellectual filters yet.

After killing the burers in the Garbage, it became possible to take the task again and immediately turn it in.
The ability to take tasks from the Bartender after completing the task of clearing the territory from mutants has disappeared. Is this a bug?

1.1694 looks promising so far, I am experiencing very few crashes yet. I have one question though, what merchants (I read that the bandit mechanist can, but I'm playing scientist now) can buy PDAs, or only random stalkers?

Some traders don't buy the PDAs, only the batteries. Remove the batteries and sell them.
Almost all faction traders buy them, but not in trading window, but through dialogue. You welcome!
Apparently clear sky is hostile to loners in this update. Learned that by a bullet to the head while talking to George, while some of them were sleeping on the next room.
It can't be, I think you were disguised, and probably in some military or bandit clothes or head gear.
Hello, about 1.1694 update. Funy thing I have companion Fanatick and eror kode apears in konsole window. So I hit him with knive and kode disapears..
Other thing AN 94 opticks problems, pso skope and tulipan skope zooms only parialy. I can still use optick but cant have full skreen optick reticle zoom. Properly work only NPSU optick sight with nigt wision. About night wision in usual conditions I must turn of night winion for this sight, at day time. Coul it bee corekted night sight of as defolt. And other thing NSPU sigh on AN94 is humangous I CANT SEE ANYTHING with it instalet while waljing with iron sights.. 2/3 skreen is optick..
And last thing in original stalker first game AN94 coud use sielencer. In AREA you can't, in weapon description weapon caled "duty faction use it as sniper weapon". Thing is I cant use it supresed and best optck zoom for soviet weapons is with tulipan skope. Because I can see bigest picture with that skope. And most expensive soviet skopes is praktilkly unusable.. I like ALOT two shot seting on AN94 but praktikly it is close to mid range gun because only colimator work best with that gun..
Bug with scope lense should be fixed, download update again.

Hello, thx for big work...though I`m still at the beginning in cordon, I am sure the whole plot will be a big and excessive adventure. But I have a strange " bug " ?? The carryweight of my army jacket plus being a " strongman " allows 40 kg maximum. But what I had never seen before in a Stalkergame beneath kg the numbering of " Volume " - maximum...this says 30.0 Volume, though I can use until 37 - 37,5 Volume using, but after that Keen does not loot items any longer. He takes them and then he let them drop. THOUGH when 37.0 Volume is reached BUT my KILOGRAMS are only at 27.0 Kilo used ( by 40 kg possible). If its no bug I don`t understand the logic,sorry :-) .
I only have one complaint in this version, because if we talk about bugs or crashes it seems that you have fixed it.
the helicopters are VERY annoying. You can't do the main loners missions because of those killing machines. They see you through bushes, through trees, also from 500 meters away (no kidding), through small holes in structures (and also from the distance), and the worst thing is that Fanatic likes to face them with simple ak- 74u, not to mention he gets killed 15 times by those things before you can complete the rookie circuit early game as a loner....I don't know if you guys can fix most things, but at least add one option to deactivate them (I didn't find any), or an rpg to knock them down. At least that will work for a while until it can be fixed (I hope so).

Are the weapon reloadings delayed on purpose? After removing and inserting a a mag, I have to wait a good 3 seconds after the magazine has been inserted before being able to aim.

It is funny and annoying to die because you have jumped at the moment when a cat, dog, bloodsucker, psi-dog, even a flesh, attacks you and you fly off dying crashing at full speed against a wall or a tree. If you can do something with the physics in the next update that would be great.
You can hit an obstacle only if your character reach certain speed. This can be only if you have Agile skill, consider it as a negative side of that. We already fully reworked actor physic and it'll be in next update, but collision with obstacle will remain with Agile perk, this is intended.
Такая проблема или фича я до конца не разобрался, когда только установил мод, все сообщения отображались в чате, после обновлений или настроек, я точно не уследил за этим, чат пропал и теперь все сообщения приходят только на ПДА, как сделать так что бы все сообщения опять отображались в HUD ????
Да, теперь так, чтобы прочитать сообщения нужно будет открыть смартфон. Нововведение версии 1.1640. Чтобы сделать как раньше, нужно будет отредактировать много скриптов и код игры.

I'm going to stop playing AREA until the team responsible for the project shows up to fix things that, in my opinion, are things that ruin the game and take away your desire to play it. Things like the helicopters, the AI with its incredible vision through obstacles, not being able to cancel animations of skinning mutants when you are taking damage, and almost constant crashes. Anyway, AREA is a dead game until its creators revive it.
I just installed A.R.E.A and I'm using directx 11, the graphics are perfect, but when I set it to 1920x1080, at least the characters in the menu (I didn't test it in the game) are all bugged, I can't understand anything at all, could anyone help me? ?
