Me and the wife just watched that episode again last night. It almost has a horror feel to it. One of the best episodes for sure. It sucks that we never saw them again in the show but it's awesome that you guys are adding them to the mod. Now if you could just find a way to get a close up of T'Pol's booty into the mod it would truly achieve perfection!

Nope, Season 1 episode "Fight or Flight."

The "Silent Enemy" aliens are also in the mod though. They are called Elachi according to STO.

They are similar in their premise and ship aesthetic.

Judging by the Description you are making them akin to the Breen. Not a bad idea and in playing the Defari missions in STO again I am inclined to agree with the theory.

Yeah, we pretty much said 'Screw it! They're the Breen!'. They're still listed as 'Unknown', but they use the Breen icon.

There's no way the Breen would have ever built that ship...It's symmetry is an absolute "Garbled Breen speech" to Breen Aesthetic sensibilities.

I agree in part - there are definite aesthetic similarities, but Breen ships of the 24th Century were always shown to be asymmetrical.

Personally I don't subscribe to the theory that identifies this species as the Breen, but due to the similarities in aesthetic, for the purposes of this mod we've decided to just go with it. It's something I can live with.

To be fair, the time between this designs and standard Breen ships is about two centuries. So there is wiggle room, but even so there's not a lot to link them.

I don't know. Culturally, we know very little about either species. The Defari missions in STO lend credence to the similarity due to the experimentation Breen boarding parties did to the Defari crews, but that was likely just a call back to "Fight or Flight" rather than trying to link the two.

Just thinking out loud. I'm not trying to dissuade the decision as for all intents and purposes it fits, I'm just letting my thoughts out.

for some reason when I read the name had a mental image of Klingon ships trying to duke it out with Genral Grievous' Subjugator Class Cruiser lol

Description

Shrouded in dark night, laden with dark purpose, deadly and enigmatic marauders bring agony and death to their next victims.

The species first encountered by Starfleet early in Enterprise NX-01's voyages remained unidentified throughout the 22nd and 23rd Centuries. Documented encounters were rare, but evidence of their presence showed that they remained active on the fringes of known space - raiding isolated starships seemingly without pattern or reason, often killing all aboard, or leaving behind traces of grisly experiments performed on the crew. Records shared with other races show that this particular species had been menacing the region since well before humans achieved warp flight.

Only one attempt at communication has so far met with any kind of success. In the mid-21st Century the Klingon Empire sent an armada of warships to confront this minacious species in battle. Far from the Empire's borders, reports from the fleet became garbled and chaotic, before falling silent altogether. None of those Klingon ships were ever seen again. Shortly thereafter an Imperial communications array detected a single transmission - a message in a language that has so far proven impossible to translate, spoken in a harsh, scrambled electronic voice that grates like steel on ice.
