Ages of the Federation is a new total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. This mod takes place in the Enterprise and Original series eras, focusing on the conflict between the early Federation and Klingon Empire. A resurgent Romulan Star Empire, angry and still licking its wounds after their defeat to Earth and her allies waits in the shadows, ready to take advantage of any of misstep by either the warring powers. The Xindi, new to the galactic stage are also eager to forge their own path.
A Romulan warship fires on a Vulcan cruiser, causing heavy damage. Surprisingly, the Romulans spare the stricken craft, leaving the ship crippled but the crew alive. It is one of the very few Romulan acts of mercy during the Earth-Romulan War.
The Romulan Star Empire's goal in the Earth-Romulan War was to fracture the Coalition of Planets and prevent the emergence of a unified force that could challenge their eventual expansion into the region. Their primary target was Earth, the driving force behind the push for unification. However, it was not unheard of for Romulan warships to deviate from their flight paths to intercept Vulcan vessels. Romulan commanders are consummate professionals, rigorously trained to be focused, decisive and ruthless. Nevertheless, the effects of two millennia of cultural resentment against their distant cousins could not be ignored, and Vulcan vessels were very tempting targets.
God those Vulcan ships look good.
That's a spicy AFT.
*Turns into HK-47* Correction. DAT AFT IS SPICY AF!

So what you are saying is that one of the few ships to be spared by the Romulans is a Vulcan ship, and no one will find that suspicious?
Why would they? At the time no one, not even the Vulcans themselves knew of the racial connection between the Romulans and the Vulcans. Only V'Las was shown to be aware of the connection, and only then because the Romulans had opted to reveal themselves to him.
This is true. It still just seems awfully suspicious. But then again, this is the 2200s, so maybe its just future sentimentalitys.
They could play it off as "Oh, here's one of the few Romulan captains that show mercy, as opposed to the overwhelming majority of them who use escape pods for target practice."
