Kreedz Climbing was never off developement. We have been continuously developing it for 7 years. We are not modeled after anything but the jumping, bhopping and surf commmunity on CS1.6 and not quake, hence whatever that corner jump is seems missing. KZmod has a great deal more to offer than just the 3 aforementioned "disciplines" too :) We also offer over 150 maps that contain close to 320 courses so you could probably play through Skyrim about 4 times before seeing everything there is to see in KZmod :D Check it out.
You only need the Source SDK Base 2006 to play it. He said HL1 and that is surely not true :D The game can be played without owning a single valve product.
Don't start downloading 4.2 because it is nothing like the upcoming 1.0 on December 21, 2012
Most people don't do this much detail because 50% of the people who want to play it will lag like hell in it. Nonetheless it looks awesome! All these screens here are truly works of perfection.
No....I took over the mod and will continue its developement :)
This mod now belongs to the makers of Kreedz Climbing and will 100% see release. We will take our time optimizong what was left undone and keep you posted during this process. Kreedz still has #1 priority but this will happen dont worry. I keep my promises (not suggesting duck doesnt, he just wants to spend his attention to GraviNULL.fairly).
I am happy to take over this excellent project.

Actually we got the mod out on time, in fact we release 3 hours before the end of the 21st :) I haven't released late once! The release from our website counts :)
Might want to install 4.0 and then 4.2 again....avoid 4.1 because its included in the 4.2 update patch.
It is, in fact, a patch and even says its a patch and no, I didn't even edit it so I'm not sure what you mean with that. It's displayed all over the internet as a patch too.

We are in fact better than the average source game in that respect. Our physics are presently so close to CS1.6....you won't notice much difference at all. So, if doing that in CS1.6 was ok for you, it will be in kzmod. We have techniques that might bother you though that 1.6 player use all the time like doubeducking to reach a 32 unti high block rather than jumping and getting the speed penalty. Let's not even get started on duck-to-standup bunnyhopping :) It's an advanced technique anyway.
If we did that it would ruin the nature of the maps (would make all maps cheatable) and the nature of the original concept of the game. As we progress through the development, I realize that this name no longer fits the mod as we have become much more than just climbing/jumping, but since its so far, a 4 year project, we shouldn't change it.
The "tools" we use are to break obstructions in the maps that block your way. This is it's sole purpose to date.
Basically yes although bunnyhop is only 1 of our 18 game modes
My testers have a great deal of skill in fact. You can go that fast too if you are able to do bunnyhopping. The raceway itself is always adding a slight amount of speed so everytime you touch, you will gain speed if the bhop was just right so you can really build it up. The rest is just learning the track. It's awesome! There are in fact 2 raceways on that map.
This game is so much more than just "a climbing game". Most think we only jump. We have 18 game modes or disciplines. 1 of them is jumping. Have a read on our profile to see a very nice description of the game and the modes.
The final version will include the multiplayer aspects of the original plan. Now that the game has enough different modes of play (18), it is time to advance to making the automated tournaments and something I call
Tag Arena.

I am guessing you speak of us. Yes we work separately and this is mainly due to one of us not wanting anyone else in. Since he is a main DEV, I have little choice but to respect this. We mainly use Xfire and steam to communicate and a mutual ftp to pass files.

What many do not know about Kreedz Climbing is that we sometimes have tournaments online. This was the original goal but some linux issues have stopped this for a time. I agree it's a single player game basicly because there is no team you play with tactically towards a common goal. 90% of the game is ,yes.....played alone....although playing alone with some cool people on a server with perfect ping from anywhere in the world is more fun. You can compete directly with someone or many others in your own "home made" tournaments which gives it a slight multiplayer thing because:
In UT or any other multiplayer deathmatch...you actually play alone against ALL on the server (Your skill against theirs like Golf)....just like we do with the exception that our end scores are time based rather than on kills/deaths. Players DO compete online against each other in our game. The World Records list is the single player part of our slightly difficult to understand Race-Puzzle-type game concept.
I also get the feeling that Single player = a game that you play against computer AI solve many missions and boom yer through....it might have a multiplayer whuich means the game has extra maps or parts of maps....where you play against other real players.
So technically we ARE both.
