Great Quake mod! I've been using it to play recently after many years of working on HD content of my own for Unreal and UT99. I might even have some skin updates I can send your way for even more optional skins. Is there any way to get particle torches turned on? No matter what setting I mess with, I get the default Quake torches!

Yeah, unfortunately it was either I blur the numbers so you can't read them (hence making it difficult to tell they are mirrored), or have someone do a new left-handed enforcer model, which isn't practical!

Thank you for the compliments! I don't check Moddb very often these days, so I apologize for my delayed response. If I had to guess, your crash is likely related to the Fmod driver you are using. RTNP:UE was only ever designed with the default Galaxy audio driver in mind and nothing else (other drivers were experimental at the time of release). I also haven't truly tested the mod with the new 469b UT99 patch, so bugs are likely to occur. Personally, I still play UT99 with version 436 and the galaxy driver for the most stable experience, although the 469 patch looks very promising.

If you can't find a mutator button at all, then you are likely running Unreal and not Unreal Gold. You need to have Unreal Gold with 227, as the original Unreal does not have a mutator window. If it looks like this, you have the WRONG version of Unreal:

Hello, I assume you are using the 469 patch? The bug appears to be related to 469 combined with DX11. If you use OpenGL (as you pointed out), or DX11 with 436, the bug likely will not happen. Assuming this is the case, it will need to be fixed by the 469 team. When I get the time, I will pass the information over to them. In the meantime, you could always use OpenGL, or switch back to the 436 patch with the 4GB memory aware patch (to eliminate virtual memory crashes):
Ntcore.com

I am not sure why the FOV is switching back and forth for you, as it does not happen on my end. Did you start the campaign by loading an old saved game that had the default FOV? This can cause the issue, if so. It should usually correct itself when you switch weapons, however.

The 7 Bullets HUD was always ginormous, and is something I made smaller with my own install of UT99. Unfortunately, it is not easy to release, as it has a lot of other package dependencies, and it also does not work with the 469 patch. Maybe down the road I will rework it and release...

At the moment, there is currently no way to use the mutator with the UT99 Ladder, sadly. That being said, I will release a new version one of these days (I was supposed to already have it out as a matter of fact), that will work with the ladder using external textures with DX11 instead of a mutator. Stay tuned.

The UT99 player skins and bots are not included in this pack, but you may find them in Ahaigh01's world texture pack (I know, it's a bit backwards having skins in the world pack, but Ahaigh01 did those skins):

There should be no mutator called "HDSkinsMut", only "Unreal/UT: HD Skins Full". What Unreal engine are you using? Do you have any menu mods that are modifying default behavior?

I'm afraid I don't know of any HD crosshairs, but the new UT 469 patch allows you to reduce the size of the crosshair so it doesn't look huge and ugly!

Do you mean low-end world textures, or low-end skins? Again, the world textures are not mine, but I believe this might be what you want:
Moddb.com

Are you really getting lag with all the high-end stuff? I am able to run it all on my old computer, which has a 10-year old Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 Ti, a dual core processor, and windows 7 with like 2GB of RAM.

Just to clarify, the world textures are not part of this mod, if that is what you mean - only the skins are. The world textures are managed by Ahaigh01, and can be downloaded here:
Sites.google.com

If your weapon skins are not in HD, then something else is going on. One thing you want to make sure of is that you aren't running the "HD Weapons" mutator alongside mine. This mutator is not related to mine, and will take priority over my mod. My mutator will be called "Unreal/UT: HD Skins Full" in the mutator window.

If the weapon skins and other Unreal skins still don't appear after that, then you will want to go through the installation instructions again and make sure you followed them closely.

Hey again Metalfist, it appears the ripper mesh issue in your screenshot is linked to the 469 patch (among several other bugs like the Pulsegun beam offset issue). I have informed Anthrax, the main designer of the 469 patch about this. For now, if you wish to revert back to the 436 patch, you can download the 4gb memory aware patch to avoid the "virtual memory" errors:
Ntcore.com

The 4gb memory increase is the main reason I refer people to the 469 patch anyway, but there are still quite a few bugs being ironed out with it...

You must have some setting or mutator enabled that is messing with the ripper. It looks like your actual mesh is distorted, and my mutator does not make any changes to the mesh itself (only the skin). Here is what it should look like:

It looks like you have tesselation enabled with the DX11 renderer. This bug in your screenshot is an issue with that feature, not my mod. The author of DX11 is currently fixing tesselation to work better with this release of my mutator, and should hopefully be out soon. Until then, I would keep tesselation disabled. Keep an eye on the DX11 moddb page here for updates:

Unreal Gold is merely the updated version of Unreal that also contains the Return to Na Pali expansion bundled together. So to answer your question, this mod replaces ALL content of both Unreal and the Return to Na Pali expansion. The mod will not work on the very old version of Unreal, however, because it does not have a menu that supports mutators/mods.

Yet another way to put it, if your Unreal menu looks like this, then there will be no way to enable my mutator:
I.stack.imgur.com

If it looks like this, then you have the correct version and can enable the mutator:
I.imgur.com

Don't forget to read the instructions and install the 227 patch if you are using Unreal Gold.

Hey Diego, I sent you a PM in case you missed it. Also, you might be interested to know that the patch coming out likely next week will include an option to enable/disable the weapon position FOV fix in a mod window. The Redeemer will have its own option in the config file in case people only want that fixed. :)

Thanks for the feedback! I am actually putting together a small patch that will likely be out in the upcoming week here. I need some more details from you though:
-What UV issue are you referring to, and what do you mean by Ripper 1p? A screenshot in this case would be helpful!
-It's funny that two people have brought up the insta-gib rifle already. I had almost forgot to even include the insta-gib rifle, and did it as the last item. I never thought so many people would be noticing it offline! I will make the color match more, especially for the upcoming online release.
-The Pulsegun beam has been brought up, and has to do with the weapon position fix. I may have to adjust the position of the pulsegun back to normal, as I don't really know a way to adjust the beam without affecting Gameplay. The next version will also have an option to disable my weapon position fix, thus re-enabling the "ginormous" weapons, although the Redeemer will have it's own option...
-Sorry, but the Redeemer HUD is not something that can be done by a mutator or my mod at this time! Maybe down the road...

Yes, some of the original Unreal textures are improved. The biggest changes were to the Automag, Shieldbelt, and Razorjack.

I just discovered today that if you don't want to upgrade UT99 to version 469, you can always download the "4GB Memory aware" patch that fixes the virtual memory errors. This was the main reason I suggested people get the 469 patch anyway. All you do is download this and apply it to UnrealTournament.exe:
Ntcore.com

As for the viewmodel positions, what you are seeing are the correct positions, but you are likely just used to the incorrect positions. Basically, there were no widescreen monitors when Unreal/UT99 came out, so everyone had an FOV of 90 with Fullscreen. The weapons appeared much smaller and took up less of the screen back then. When widescreen came out and people started turning the FOV up to 100+, the weapons appeared humongous, because Epic didn't plan for widescreen. The UT99 Redeemer is the worst example - taking up more than half the screen. My mutator makes the weapons smaller as they were always intended to be (I made the positions match a fullscreen monitor with an FOV of 90).

I might release a small optional update later that removes this fix, since so many people are used to the buggy appearance, or the "ginormous" weapons bug, as I like to call it. xD

Hi, thanks for the compliment! You do not need the Oldskool mod for Unreal Gold with the 227 patch (you got the 227 patch, right?) Oldskool is only for Unreal Tournament.

The version you put a link to does work, but I would actually recommend taking the extra step of getting the DirectX11 renderer for Unreal here:
Moddb.com

After that, you can then get the "HD4K Extreme Resolution Edition v3 for the Direct X 11 renderer" pack, which is very easy to install. This pack is the same author as the one you put a link to, but in another format that I personally prefer. It is easier to update down the road, and doesn't eat up memory while running Unreal like the other one does:
Sites.google.com

It takes a bit more effort installing the Dx11 renderer, but once you have that done, it is very easy installing the textures I put a link to. If you don't feel like installing the DX11 renderer, then that link you gave me will also work fine. :)

Sorry for the late response; Moddb does not notify me when someone comments on one of my mods... Anyway, something must have gone wrong somewhere during your installation process. Do you have UnrealGold with the 227 patch installed? The mod will not work with the old version of Unreal (the non "Gold" version). Besides that, make sure you properly copied 'HDSkinsMut.int' and 'HDSkinsMut.u' to the Unreal\System folder. Read the installation instructions very carefully to ensure you didn't miss anything!

Yes, it does. Did you read the installation instructions carefully? Did you enable the mutator when starting a game? Did you install the OpenGL or DX11 renderer? Keep in mind the UT99 weapons and inventory are not currently included in the 2.1 release; only the Unreal weapons are. However, a new release is due in a matter of weeks that remedies this. ;)
