I really appreciate the efforts behind making this mod. The visual and environment are very nice.

But, lost the grip half-way during the platforming section. You really need to be pixel perfect while jumping from one platform to another. And that too is made unnecessarily more frustrating by making your movement deliberately janky (The advisor effect screen) and adding barnacles and the combine soldiers at the tricky positions while you having limited ammo. On a funny note: I felt like I'm playing a jump-crouch simulator during this platforming section.

The combine soldiers will shoot at you with a near-perfect aim, so better use cover more often, otherwise, you are screwed due to ammo limitation and slow shooting mechanism as well as movement speed. Enemy spawning is all over the place, which makes combat sometimes frustrating rather than challenging.

Overall this was one time play for me.

But, I will thank and congratulate the mod developers for the nice overall visual design.

Verdict: 6 or 6.5 / 10

Confusing.
Frustrating.
Tedious.
Requires so much patience to complete.
Appreciate the work but this is just one-time play (if you don't rage quit off course).

"Bitter" Half-Life!

It wasn't a pleasant experience playing this mod.

Uneven difficulty throughout.

Some design choices are bad. Like
-Spamming the screen with words during end-boss battle, the section that is ridiculously difficult from the beginning.
-Three-Garg section
and a few more...

Just played through the first normal ending.
This mod didn't encourage me to play it again for the 2nd ending(Alien one).
Appreciate the work of the developers.
But, this is not for me.

Very good mod.
Short and enjoyable.
