I've decided to discard the trello in favor of just doing announcements.
I've decided to discard the trello in favor of just doing announcements.
I just squinted my eyes a lot and kept editing the textures through GIMP to keep the text as "faithful" to the sign as possible
Nope, still going! I just haven't found time to do anything as of recently, so Binkus is leading the project once again.
did you install mapbase in the first place then? Using a non-included version most likely won't work

did you make sure that right inside the folder you've pasted in custom there's folders like "texture" and "sound"? If not you might want to reorganize it like that, as having them inside another folder (aka having two container folders instead of one) breaks the mod
e.g.
having something like this: custom\gte\sound works
having something like this: custom\gte\gte\sound doesn't work
After a long setback I'm sorting things out. Reorganized the cards a little bit, but not done yet until everything is set.
Everything looks good...except for Grigori, imo his face needs a rework because that goes straight into uncanny valley.
Truly amazing, I cried at the end
Remove the "LCGTE" folder inside "custom", and replace lostcoast/resource/lostcoast_english.txt with the backup you should've saved as per installation instructions.
If for some reason you haven't backed it up remove said file and then, on Steam, enter the game's properties, click on the "Local Files" tab, then "Verify integrity of game files".
Sure, go on, although you'd lose part of the experience due to the menu not translating (since it's different) and possibly some HUD elements (maybe not since, if I remember correctly, it does use default HL2 resources).
If anything I encourage you to buy HL2 and episodes since it goes on sale so frequently (basically during every single major sale kek), plus you're missing out on so many great sourcemods :)
Actually something I only remembered now since I have been playing tons of mods where I would basically never run out of ammo or get poisoned lol
Hi, sorry for the late reply. I've been busy with University since November (moreso now that it's exam session period), however the project is far from dead. Me and Binkus are planning another..."sneak peek", except this time it's not gonna be a video ;)
Did you restart Steam after putting the folder inside sourcemods? Also did you make sure that as soon as you navigate through the mod folder you're immediately presented with stuff like "bin", "maps", "gameinfo.txt", etc.?
Basicaoly every role has been filled for now, so I don't really need more people, but thanks for the offer
We have everything we need as of now, but thanks anyway
I've added the VA's name to the Trello but not on mod description. I apologise for this error, I'm kinda being held back by university right now.
We actually do technically, we're just in an uncertain situation so his name is not written yet.
I mean, it'll be all about putting a folder in the "custom" one but sure.
I forgot to mention another reason. Source handles audio differently to GoldSrc, as in different encoding and parameters such as sample rate and format, plus I'd need to run all of the files through faceposer in order to get lipsync working, which is what I'm doing for HL2, however since I managed to only properly run lipsyncing on Source SDK 2013, I doubt that would work for what is basically the oldest retail Source game of all.
Nah, I ain't gonna do that. I recall seeing somewhere in the comments of GoldSrc: GTE that they asked if they could do it and got permission, I suppose they never completed that port since you're asking me. But yeah, I'm not gonna port HL:GTE in HL:S, moreso HL:S is a "meh" port and it's way less played than any other Source or GoldSrc game.
We decided not to name it "Source: GTE" because Binkus would like to translate Portal himself. As for me, other than Half-Life 2 I will probably at least try to get Episode 1 and 2 too, however I have no idea how further I can push this, considering sooner or later I'll get into University
Right, I've been watching you for the past days. I've drawn the conclusion that you're just pretending to be a reviewer; well, you could be a reviewer, if you worked for CNN (Don't take it as a compliment).
Why? First of all, your "reviews" are subjective, a lot. "I killed the first two antlions with just a pistol and limited ammunition"...and? Your point is? Just because you personally don't like it doesn't mean that it's a bad start for the mod. "Some of the levers were off-the-bat non-functional", literally only you had this problem, why don't you start thinking "This doesn't work. I should re-install the mod or Source SDK. Otherwise I'll just look for support."? "amateurly-made mod" like you're the Hammer and Source SDK expert here; I sure ain't, but looking at your "reviews" you aren't either.
Second, you put it like being bad at the game is a mod flaw, not yours. In almost every ******* mod you've "reviewed" there's a part where you state you had to turn on sv_cheats and activate noclip and god. You're just bad at the game, admit it. In this case, I personally had no difficulty issues with this mod, in both normal and hard, and so is it with majority of other mods you've played on. If you were a game reviewer, I bet you'd remove points from one because "waaaah waaah too difficult for me".
I suggest you start questioning your choices on the Internet, sit back, relax, learn how to play Half-Life 2, look on the bright side of things and stop being so bitchy.
