it won't even launch, it's a black screen and then it tabs out
You need to install Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer, right click it in Steam, select “Properties”, then select the Betas tab. Make sure it’s set to the “upcoming” beta.
did all that. other map labs work before the mapbase thing was added.
did you install mapbase in the first place then? Using a non-included version most likely won't work
