Hey, @soopytwist... are you still visiting here??
You made a post on Oct 10, 2020, with detailed, step-by-step instructions to install this mod without having troubles. That worked well for me!!

Is there any chance that could get pinned at the top of this thread, so people can find it easily?? In fact, perhaps make an install.notes.txt file with that message, and include it in the distribution file??

I had a *lot* of trouble getting this installed, until I followed your instructions there... that was Gold !!

Cool!! Thank you so much !!!!!
Hopefully I won't need it, but I *have* had two CTDs so far with RC19 plus your mod... mind you, I don't know that RC19 itself is all that stable at this point!!!

Would I be able to copy *just* ui_options.script to base Anomaly RC19, or would I need other files as well???

I figured out what causes that "invisible teleport trap" issue that I mentioned in previous posts...

If you enable the 'developer_mode' debugging option on the command line, it adds a teleport menu, allowing one to fast-travel to another region. However, it *sometimes* creates this teleport trap in the initial teleport location; whenever you come back and walk to that same spot, you get teleported to the region where you initially chose to teleport to.

It is really easy to fix, once you know what is causing it... just go back to where the trap is, then move to some nearby spot that is not in the main path, and teleport again; that will move the trap to your new location, which hopefully is out of the way!!

And of course, the reason that many people, such as LiquidBronze have never seen this, is probably because they don't use the teleport menu!!

Is there a way to add a spawn-menu mod to RP2ahf5 ??

With vanilla SoC, I used Atlas spawn menu, but that doesn't work with RP2...

Well, no, I don't have a video of this issue, but I've seen many comments, on various forums, from others who experienced it...

Hmmmm... however, now that I have redux version, which doesn't appear to have this bug, I have deleted the raw 1.4007 installation. To duplicate this, I would have to re-install it, then play through part of the game until it happened again... I'm probably not going to do that!!

In any case, if you aren't seeing it, there's no problem (at least for you)... When I posted about this issue on Dezowave's facebook page (back when that was still active), several other people posted about the same issue. I also posted about it another time, on another forum... damn, I don't recall where it was, I'm sorry about that...

Anyway, my reason for making this post, is in case someone who *does* experience it, happens to stop by and consider this version...

One superb note about the redux version; it appears to have fixed a *really* aggravating bug in LADC 1.4007; I and many others have experienced this bug in 1.4007, where an invisible trap sometimes gets set on the ground, often at a point that is hard to avoid (such as the entrance to Fox's shop in Cordon); when you step in that spot, you get automatically teleported to the entrance to some other region in the game. That trap cannot be removed, other than reloaded to some *much* earlier point in the game, replay back to that point, and hope the trap isn't there next time.

I haven't yet completed redux, but I'm just outside X7 dungeon, so I'm much of the way through the game - and that bug has *NEVER* occurred, not even once!!! What a relief... that is worth putting up with the periodic crashes at certain points; at least with the crashes, I can reload and keep playing...

@daxmarko: the newer, Extended edition makes *considerable* changes to gameplay, in most cases aiming to make the game substantially more difficult. Thus, it likely would be a considerable effort to make this mod compatible with that version. Since most of the changes in redux are aimed at making the game less stressful to play (as well as fixing bugs), it's probably not worth bothering.

Frankly, I dumped Extended edition because I didn't care for the direction that they are focused on taking it.

Now that this works, and the larger ammo boxes work so beautifully, I wonder if I could ask one more favor of you??

I would dearly love to get access to outfit.ltx;
It is typically in gamedata/configs/misc/equipments/outfit.ltx

Later note:
I copied outfit.ltx from the regular LADC V1.4007, with some addon which provided it, and it is working fine!!

Okay, I *did* manage to get redux running, using these instructions... however, it is *very* touchy!! The first time I tried it, redux ran fine... but then I tried setting all of my custom video settings (2560x1600, Maximum, DX11), and it crashed on load. So I tried resetting these back to defaults, but I could never get it to run again; I would get to the main menu, and could access options, but starting the game would just crash.

So then I deleted it, reinstalled, and tried again... but *this* time, I only changed one setting at a time, save and reload after each, and that seems to be working...

Later note:
Yeah, loading is a little touchy; in most cases, it will load just fine, but sometimes (maybe, 1-in-5 times?? something like that) it will crash during the load, at different phases during the load process. However, once I terminate the not-working game thread and restart, it usually will succeed on subsequent loads. I don't know why it's so touchy.

BTW, I updated my NVidia drivers a few days ago, so outdated drivers are not an issue here.

Yep, as usual. Crash on initial load.

Installed LADC 1.4007, no mods of any sort, ran the game, it ran fine.
Over-wrote the LB files over the existing files, ran it again, got main menu (that's better than some tries), selected "New Game", and it crashed before I got to the 'press any key' state.

Why is it, that 90% of all add-ons for LADC cannot be executed??
It really doesn't make sense.

Hi soopytwist...
Could I *please* beg you again, to try to make this mod run?
The problem is *not* with XREngine, because I install LADC 1.4007 and it runs just fine; the only thing that changes with redux is the contents of the gamedata directory, which is scripts and data files. The XR Engine binaries are not touched at all.

BTW, I did as you said; after running LADC once to make sure it was working, I deleted the gamedata directory and replaced it with yours. Sadly, I don't even get the option to 'start new game', because the game crashes before getting to main menu. If I then replace your gamedata with the original gamedata directory, it runs just fine.

I would *really* desire to try out your mod!!

Sadly, as others have noted, this is *NOT* Arsenal Overhaul plus Complete, it is Arsenal Overhaul plus Helios.

The main issue with this, is that I *really* wanted the teleport
capability from Clear Sky Complete, and it is not included here.

Well, okay, I was curious about the redux version, but I cannot make it run at all, so I guess I'll have to give up. Maybe there will be a fixed version someday.

All the issues in my previous post are still present. I also tried deleting the gamedata directory entirely from the LADC install, and replaced it with this one... doesn't matter, cannot make it run at all. First of all, the configurator itself crashes, after giving me a warning message saying that it was going to do so... and then when I tried to run XR_3DA.exe, which I had to do in order to get LADC itself to run, this still crashes... cannot make it work...

Fatal errors with fresh installation...

My system: Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit
Video: Nvidia GTX 1070ti
tons of RAM and disk space

I installed Lost Alpha DC 1.4007, then unzipped Redux into the install directory. I then ran the desktop link. I get errors from Lost Alpha Configurator: program's state is unstable. If I proceed and try to run, it gets through most of the startup screens, but then crashes:

Expression : pm->m_animations.size()
Function : player_hud_motion_container::load
File : player_hud.cpp
Line : 90
Description : motion not found [fort_idle_bore]

Is this a known issue?? I seem to recall originally having some issues getting LADC Config to run... don't recall details, though...

//********************************************
Well, I went back to my old LADC notes, and used the startup method that I used before: bypass the configurator entirely, and run XR_3DA.exe directly. I have to do a tweak to the startup script, to change startup line to base directory, but that worked for original LADC... sadly, does *not* work with Redux, it just crashes while trying to start up...

Hmmm... I think I actually had to deal with similar issues at first with LADC as well, but I don't have any notes on what I had to do...

So please permit one more question... I'm preparing to install your mod now, and I need to install an original copy of Lost Alpha DC first, I believe...

So *do* you support the "-developer mode" command-line argument that the original version supports? Or has that been disabled??

Good karma+1 vote

Well, okay, that's cool.
How are cheat options going to be accessed in this version?
Will it still be via the -developer option, or some other mechanism?

Is there *any* chance that this version might offer some option to dump that damned belt for ammo?? None of *real* Stalker games forced this on us, and I *really* cannot tolerate it... it makes alternate weapons essentially useless.

If nothing else, maybe only have this option for Novice difficulty?? For those of us who *really* are not interested in Misery mode??

So, I recently played LA V1.4007. I *quickly* got tired of grey weather, so installed this mod; I *don't* have Extended Weather installed, so I installed better_weather_vanilla.

Sadly, it doesn't appear to do *anything* !! I had 90% grey weather throughout the game... very disappointing. Is there something else I can do, to make this mod work?

The only other mod that I installed, which *might* have been related to this, is the M97 patch... is it possible that M97 conflicted with your mod somehow?

Interesting... yes, that seems to work...
It took several tries; when I first ran with your mod included, "launch game from last save" was disabled, which is why I initially chose "start new game". This time I chose "Launch Game", which loaded the last save (I've actually been playing without your mod for awhile now).

Anyway, that worked, but loaded as 1280x720; however, now I can change resolution and quality settings with no problem, and they change quickly. Also, once I saved with your mod and the restarted, everything works fine!!

Thank you !!

Wow, I tried this mod, hoping to find something that would give me access to weapons and ammo ltx files.

It initially loaded successfully with "Start new game", but took a *loooong* time to load (more than 2 minutes). Then resolution was wrong (my screen is 2560x1600), so I tried changing resolution; that worked, but again it blanked the screen for a couple of minutes before giving me the screen back. After that, I tried to change graphics quality from Medium to High (I have a GTX 980 card) - this blanked the screen and just hung.

Here is the tail end of the xray_ascender.log file; there were *many* sections of "Engine is freezed, saving log" messages, this is just the last few:
