Hi tassderover, you can edit the bw2text.bin with a hex-editor.
I personally use 'Hex-Editor MX'.
But afaik it's not possible to add new strings of text. You can only edit existing ones.

Hi there, buildings are hardcoded for the most part which is why I can't add new buildings easily without replacing existing ones.
Maybe I could add them in the future but they aren't really at the top of my priority list at the moment.
Hi there thanks for your comment! Towns can't be captured by impressiveness once they have been captured aggressively before, except you take over their capital.
I'm not too sure how refiners work exactly but I think I could find a fix for these kind of behaviours in the future.

You can install the optional part of the mod. It won't break your files. While you have the optional part installed and launch the game from the whitemod.exe, you get some bug fixes and a street building tool which usage is described somewhere in the changelog below the 1.0 changes I think.

I'm currently working on a new version with lots of bug fixes for AI, new personalities and some minor balance changes (Reverted tiberium field growth rate back to normal, still thinking of which growth rate I want to take).

Hi, you might want to change the polling rate of your mouse to something like 125 hz.
However I can't help you with how you change your polling rate since I'm just using a second mouse for bw2 which has a low polling rate by default.
I did found a mismatch caused by the AI and fixed it. However not all mismatches are caused by the AI so sometimes they will just appear out of nowhere.
I have the feeling mismatches are also related to some maps as I get nearly no mismatches on some maps even though the AI has like 300 units.

Somehow the optional files are missing in the german version, but you can use the english one, the optional files are the same there. I'll reupload the german version soon.
You need to place the files somewhere where you have all rights, placing files in C:\ is likely that you don't have all needed rights. Try another partition instead.
You can find the skirmish mode in gods playground which loads automatically after the tutorial lands.
You might want to have a look into 'Black & White 2\Data\ctr', I think most creature related stuff is in there.
But I think only textures are editable.
I let creatures grow bigger in earlier version of the mod but sadly it resolved into navigation and animation issues which is why I reverted the change back to normal
Adding any new creatures isn't really possible in this mod because I would've to replace the turtle files with for example the wolf files. And I think even then the sounds aren't working.
Only maybe possible way to get all creatures is porting the mod to BOTG (which isn't possible atm due to missing modding tools).
Yep, because of that just stick to the installation guide I wrote and the game should run with much less problems on win10 :)
CD fixes or no cd cracks break patch 1.3 which makes the game stable on newer windows versions.
For 22 bucks botg is still worth it I think even though I never played botg, Biggest problem would be the scripts as they wouldn't work most likely.
Battle of the Gods is not compatible with this mod since it isn't exactly handled as an addon but as a standalone game more or less.
This mod however adds some content from botg into the base game like an own adaptation of the campaign levels of botg. But it's far different from the content in botg
I wouldn't recommend installing bw2 into program files. If you don't have any other drive I would recommend to install bw2 into C:\Games or something. That's most likely the reason why the bat from the patcher fails, running the bat as admin could work.
Well, I just replayed all the lands and only got a save-crash on the 4th aztec land.
Where did you install bw2? Same partition as Windows?
I personally have good experiences with installing bw2 to somewhere else than the windows drive, and then following my installation guide. I also cap the game to 60 fps with dxtory + I actually don't use any compatibilty mode and I don't start it as admin.
How many villagers did you have and how many your enemy?
In this update I changed a bunch of stuff in the campaign to try to fix this crash. If this type of crashes appear less in the campaign, I can carry over this fixes into skirmish
This basically sums possible fixes up, but I wouldn't recommend a no CD crack since the fan patch 1.3 already includes no CD and installing a no CD crack may revert changes of 1.3 patch or possibly other patches (depends on the cracked .exe).
For installing BW2, it's also important to install patch 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 one by one. And I never install BW2 on a drive where windows is installed.

Random crashes (especially in campaign) are super weird and shouldn't ever happen (at least on my machine they happened really rarely with win10, gtx1080, i7-8700).
On my side saving only crashed on 3rd jap, 1st aztec and 4th aztec land (Version 1.4.4). Mostly after like 1.5 hours playtime, then I had to go through the land without saving and start saving on the next land again.
Else I would add a 9th point where you cap the game to 60fps, there appear some bugs if you run the game with more than 60fps.

If they are in later lands of my mod they're reduced in the next update.
I know the game is a bit crashy for some people but I don't know why and would like to know what's different on your side than on some other people where it's working flawlessly for the most part
Generally loading a new land is enough to get changes to take effect since a lot of the old files (scripts, landscapes) are saved in the save game folder. But the Redux tutorial lands (first land up to gods playground) should always be loaded once for each save file.
I sadly don't know exactly how to get it run on the 360 version. But I could imagine that deleting AdvancedAI_1.2_Misc.big and the respective line out of skudef file (open it with notepadd++ or something) can work.
80% of the AI changes are in the streams file which is why it could work like that. However it might be weaker without the misc.big file
I'm going to upload a new version soon, which has lots of fixes. Might be that this issue will be fixed in the 1.3 version
It's not easily possible to add new buildings to the game since they are like 75% percent hardcoded, in the future it might be possible to port the mod over to botg, but that's uncertain at the moment unfortunately.
