On the internet if you fight for your cause, you're an aggressor and in the wrong, if you don't fight, then you're weak and don't deserve anything. This is why we are seeing a rise of conflicts. There is little room for compromise, no incentive* to back down, and massive costs in defeat.

This is why online social justice (and their opposition to be honest) is getting uglier by the day.

Social justice momentum has recently gone to the feminists. Sadly between white guilt and their having gone mad with every minor irrelevant issue instead of tackling major ones such as abortion along a myriad of other health rights & issues, they went full retard. As most of you are probably aware, you never go full retard.

All of this "cis gender" nonsense is a sad failed push of a desperate bunch of attention seekers. In a few years or decade I had hoped for a rejuvenated leftist uprising, friendly to JFK and FDR types. At this point, I've given up on any reasonable expectation of this happening. Back to the point of the gaming "community."

We live in a new era, where the ideals of nationalism and bigotry are challenged and widely are becoming abandoned. Media, social networking and so on make it quite easy for people to know what's going on and to put a human face on it. The gaming "community" is thus very susceptible to any ripples in the social justice realm of events. As a society, the empathetic among us have trained many to assume when someone cries wolf, they're actually in the presence of a wolf and "the man" doesn't want you to care. It actually is quite ironic, however they will never gain any real momentum in all likelihood.

As dumb as most people may be, it doesn't take long to smell ******** if you truly care to know the truth and not be sucked into dogmas. Luckily with the dying of religion's dogma, a general attitude both disinterested or against dogma follows.

A little something to add to the discussion...

I agree with Jim Sterling in regards to video games being big enough for us all. Yeah, sure, they are. But you cross the line when you start pushing for all inclusiveness when it doesn't match the setting or the story. Or when you think it's okay to be doing **** like this:

This is why I despise that kind of attitude. Because it limits people's creativity when they have to try and be as politically correct as possible. Video games don't always have to reflect our current society. They don't have to represent everyone equally. It's art, you don't get to dictate what the artist does because it could offend or exclude you.

What "SJWs" have effectively done is hold developer's hostage and order them to remove things or add things, or else they will be branded misogynistic or racist, which is bad PR. It's ******* toxic to the industry.

I agree with you. I honestly just posted Jim's version to add to the discussion. I respect his opinion but also disagree with him. There are specific instances where a game would be better if it's politically correct.

Heck every game that's set in Europe several centuries ago should be discrimatory toward woman for that medieval atmosphere in my opinion. Same like you just wouldn't put modern weapons in a medieval setting. It would simply break immersion and be unrealistic for the time frame! If we discovered another race in our Galaxy would that mean that all of our games based on our history would have to involve them in some way even if the setting was prior to the interaction? It just doesn't make sense.

That being said it's worth looking into the possibility of including female leads in a male dominated setting but make it so that the lead gets discriminated for crying out loud. Don't just make NPCs react to a female lead as though their world view was based on 21st century modern society!

Sorry for the rant but I hate extremists that will take this issue to either side of that scale. I personally am of the opinion that game devs should be allowed to do what they want. If someone doesn't like it then they should JUST. NOT. BUY. IT! I don't think I can be more clear with that. Instead of starting Internet wars, threatening the devs, acting up, crying to the press, etc. Just not buying it and allowing those that enjoy that type of game to we'll enjoy it.I can't stand some peoples selfcentred and extremist views. I mean the world doesn't revolve around them and they should stop thinking that they are the only ones that matter...

Description

Recently, there has been a shit-storm of social justice warriors and the internet has been split in half. The gaming industry is inundated with them, and they feel the need to dictate how the creators of these games do their job, like demanding they represent every ethnicity despite the setting or story. I'm just wondering: When does social justice become a dirty term? I feel as though I agree with Patrick Stewart here, but the advent of morons on the internet has made me feel ashamed of it.
