Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries is a battlemech piloting simulation and part of the Mechwarrior and Battletech universe unleashed by FASA Studios.
In April 2010, MekTek received permission from Microsoft to release the game for free using their MekMatch torrenting program.
Now that MekTek has refocused its energies on Heavy Gear, it is up to the community to keep the classic mech piloting tradition alive.
This group will also serve as a platform for downloading new content created by the community, including new maps,mods and mech decals, some of which have been hosted by other enthusiast sites.

Hello everyone I have been busy with MW4 projects and I'm happy to announce to the public what I have been working on for the past few weeks :D
Net Mech IV 1.02:
This mod was originally created by Evil Cow and the Mechstorm crew in 2005, this mod brought some sim aspects to MW4 and a dynamic timeline tech selection and more, suddenly the mod stopped because of internal problems in the team and there was a mech that never saw the day of light again but it still existing in the files hopefully by the end of 2020 this mod will get updates and more as time passes now I'm currently working on fixing some bugs and getting it to work without a CD
Mech Simulation Mod(WIP):
A successor to NM4 but for Mekpak 3.1, this mod will make mechs and weapons feel heavier as well as new skins that fits the title
Crazy Map swapping mod:
this idea came when I was talking to a friend about maps a month ago, and I was like "hey why can't I create a map swapping mod" as you read the title it will swap certain missions or map terrain with a different one which will make the mission little bit unexpected and more of a replay value
HD Map Pack/Patch 4 & MW4 Remastered mod:
as you all know I have released a beta version of the remastered mod which contains graphical and sound improvements and soon more hot content....

So if any one want to make a mech modal need these
All the tools I use are freeware or something we all have:
Wings 3D. I do all my modeling in wings.
Blender & Yaf-Ray. I use these to render. (Yaf-Ray is a Blender plugin)
UV mapper. May be useful for UV'ing a 'Mech. Wings can UV too, though. Both have strong points and weak points.
The Gimp. Excellent free image software. For those who do not want to buy Photoshop or another professional graphic editing program.
TGATool2. Simple but useful tool. Lets you edit the alpha texture of a TGA separately from the main RGB channels.

So if you did and they work plz release them and also if you made better mech also release them as a mod
