What games have the best mods.

STALKER all the way! The Zone truly is a wondrous place. So many different stories to live and amazing experiences to be had.

Just my honest opinion... :)

The whole Arma series has had some of the best mods. However I feel that much of the games in the vote have 1 or 2 mods that take up some of the best mods I have ever played.

Mount and Blade series!!! Modders have created whole new worlds and added new things that in the original games you couldnt do. Battle for middle earth series is also really good not gonna lie, but Mount and Blade modders created a whole new level of modding :D

Total War games?

Desert Combat, Forgotten Hope 1+2, and Project Reality are all so professionally made that they could easily have been AAA titles for their time, in addition to numerous other high quality mods for pre-Bad Company era Battlefield titles. It's a tragedy that Dice has stopped supporting mods for their games, since even without any moddable games in almost a decade the BF series still has some of the highest quality mods around.

Company of heroes have very good mods.

C&C,BF and M&B series.

Total War series!

Men of War, and GEM engine games.

One of the easiest to mod engines.
People have already remade Metro in it, and I got two massive Halo and Half-Life mods.

Even though some people bash the source engine, because it's old, limited and designed for levels with loading transitions and such, but the mods themselves are amazing, if done right.

Hell, Titanfall game was made with the source engine (too bad for many derailed hype trains and the game is now empty and forgotten) and it had a parkour system with jetpacks!

As for modders, Underhell proved that a mod with survival and realism elements can make an enjoyable experience. It also has an interesting storyline with memorable characters!

And many other multi-player mods like Fistful of Frags (now standalone), Dystopia and Vikings, Pirates and Knights 2 (now standalone) are enjoyable experiences you'll ever encounter in a multi-player game. Also, they're free!

Stalker, Mount&Blade; and Medieval Total War 2 have the best mods imo.

Oh but Doom has a wicked sick modding community with such amazing content released! Too many good games to choose.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for sure - MISERY and Lost Alpha say it all. As for the other games, I would say Amnesia: The Dark Descent also has a couple of very good mods, and maybe The Elder Scrolls? (Overhaul for Morrowind, Wyrmstooth for Skyrim)

I voted Source Engine. Also Gold Source Engine has got many great mods.

imo Stalker has one of the worst mods

There's no debate .. Mount and blade is a game created for modders. There are modders who are creating different worlds adding fantasy, history etc and giving out a brilliant gameplay. Every mod is so different from one another its like playing a whole different game. Can't wait for Mount blade 2 bannerlords. I'm sure modders will rock with that one

I voted for Source Engine mods, but if I could vote for multiple games, I would.

Unfortunately I haven't played a lot of mods yet. I only got my modern Gaming PC late last year, all of these games are in my list of games to play, but I first have to buy them, and then play them vanilla.

I won't run out of things to play anytime soon. xD

Its a shame I cant select more options, because for me personally as a RTS PC gamer I think that the CnC series together with Sins of a Solar Empire, Homefront and Empire at war have some great mods out there.
