They are both 1337, and I will like halo 2 better at first. But eventually HL2's mods will overpower the puny halo 2 :p

FPS! Pah! They all the same, different graphics and different physics but still point and shoot. I love fps, don't get me wrong but look at the latest releases! Point, shoot and repeat untill dead, whoops, sorry not to forget duck and jump now and again. I WILL buy HL2, about 2 months down the line off e-bay for no more than 12 pounds and i'll only be buying it then for any mods due out. Thank god for the modding community, at least they can turn an average game into a work of art.

One silver package all ordered. I think it's not bad for a state of the art game, a few other mods for it, one of the best engines in the world AND all the modding capability that comes with it.

I love these posts from Halo 2 fanboys. fools...
Halo 2 = slightly better gfx than Halo 1 and barley any gameplay improvments to speak of. Not to mention it's an un-MODable console game.
Now, HL2 on the other hand is the sequel of "the best action game of all time" and will feature some awesoem MODs. Have fun with Halo 2 for < a year while us HL2 players will be enjoying the fruits of the game for MANY years to come.

Collectors all the way, I don't really trust buying stuff over steam cos all you get in return is a cd-key basically... I wanna have a hard copy of HL2 and HL:S :D

I wanna get it from a store but i want HL + DoD : S Yet the only way im gonna get em is through steam :( Why's there so many people against a game they havent yet played ?
Yes, that is puzzling. I'm going the Collector's edition. I Don't really like the idea of downloading several gigabyte of game off the internet, and like all the nice extras.

Just FYI, the Gold Edition is like a mere 10 bucks more, and has like 8 more things... Yes you must download it off the internet, but VALVe then sends you like a box and everything so it will be like you bought it in the store.
Oh and with the Collector's Edition you do NOT get DoD:S...
Retail Collector's Edition is a rip-off IMHO.

Half-Life 2?...pfft...sure its got the latest D. X. 9 graphics with mpeg mouth movement, realistic physics, and a godlike story line....sure , but can it cook??

Youre right, I already know how much it will cost in my country, 2.5x more than the standard edition :|
I figured i'd buy a steam silver version so i'd have access to everything (plus CSS Right away) and if i wanted a box and someone else at a lan party wanted to play at the same time but didn't have it i'd set up an account specificly for my share copy.

Golds just a rip off at the price, its just ridicilous. Your mad if you pay that sort of money for some gimmic extras.
i'll grab the silver package, i wanna see HL1 with source as well, the game was fabulous. DoD will kick *** as well, but have you ever seen screens from this new Source-version? i wanna see some! :D
