8 years have past, the mod has taken it's toll. Thanks to the lack of interest, a busted old computer, a d*ckward of a computer repairman who has since closed down his shop for good (good riddance), Eternal Armageddon: The Devastation has come to an unprecedented end. It was fun while it lasted...
The mod first started as CnC: Devastation and it was merely a new units mod with the one major planned feature was adding the Empire of the Rising Sun as a fourth faction. Expanding on that idea and not wanting to be confused with another older mod of the same name, it was later renamed to Eternal Armageddon: The Devastation, a name I honestly just pull out of my a$$. It aimed to make the existing three factions more balanced and unique, adding not just one new faction but four new factions (Empire of the Rising Sun, Wing of Freedom, Talon Corps, The Descendants), each with their own themes, tech, and general playstyle.
One feature I really wanted to add was a tech branching system where the player can pursue a tech branch right of the bat, upgrading through four tiers of three different tech branches instead of playing with subfactions. I realized that while innovative, that would require a lot of work.
The mod's development hasn't been consistent as it has been on hiatus at times. I admit what was keeping me from modding: other games, scrolling through Deviantart, more recently my time in national service. In the few months before I went for NS, I made it my aim to finish up as much as I can on the Chimera. Allies and Soviets were mostly complete, the Chimera's vehicles was where I left the mod hanging. Unfortunately when I finally got the chance to continue with the mod, I could only complete a few new vehicles, namely the Lasher Tank and the Ripper Quad before my computer died. Sent it for repairs and the jackass repairman said he could get it done within a week. Instead I had to chase that motherfiretrucker for three freakin' months for an answer. When I finally got him, he admitted he couldn't do shit. Screw you mate! >:(
And that was it. The mod was on hold indefinitely when in actuality it was already dead. Sorry that I took quite a while to announce this. This mod has officially been discontinued. It was a great experience working on this mod, brainstorming new features to add to it and improving my voxel editing skills.
Fret not! If you've been browsing through Project Perfect Mod, you might be aware that I've started a new mod. I'll make a new mod entry here soon and I've already got some neat things to show you guys :D Keep an eye out for it ;)
Eternal Armageddon: The Devastation. 2007 - 2015. It was fun while it lasted... :)
Oh man, what a shame. I was looking forward for this great mod. :(
And another good one bites the dust. RIP Devastation.
Well this is sad to hear
Rest in peace
Aww man, I really wanted Commissars
That's rather odd though, so long as the Hard Drive containing the files themselves isn't the part that failed all you would need to do is once you have a new rig is place it into it and plug it in...
Sad to see this go......
Same fate,as RA3 Paradox. :(
