Hey guys, this week was a little slow, but we still have a few things to show you.
I am terribly sorry that I was unable to post an update yesterday like planned, but I ended up being away from the house from 6:30 am to about 10:30 pm.
What we have managed this week:
Anyways, so I have worked more on the player code of the game, trying to get a dynamic heartbeat system running, and have finalized the regenerating health for the moment. Also, our concept artist who made the characters you all saw recently has made for us some assault rifle concepts and we are currently trying to determine the visual flare of the weapons and such. Our environment concept artist is going to be offline for a week or so because he is entering a small gears of war contest, and our 3d artist is caught up with school.
What to expect soon:
Well, first off, a website should be launching fairly soon, and, as soon as we are sure about the armor we want. More concept art and I think I will be making a short video demonstrating my dynamic heartbeat system based on damage in a simple UT game. But our environment concept artist will be active again in a few days, and Steffen, the other concept artist, it seems will be quite active over the next few weeks.
Here is the assault rifles (please do leave a comment on your favorite):
personally i favor 3 and 4 they have a futuristic but modern feel to them the others felt either too modern or too future
All is good, but 2th is too much m16 looks like. (dunno, maybe it's good for you guys)
I love them all.
Nr.1 could use a cool drum magazin right at the point where the butt stock starts.
3 for me.
3 and 5 look pretty futuristic and fitting imo. They are also kinda unique. 4 Looks cool too but it resembles today's rifles a lot.

2 and 5. :D
1st one is a lot like the Mass Effect rifle.
2nd looks great, but grip could do with a re-think.
3rd is a bit clunky looking, not practical.
4th is a great balance between futuristic and function. Looks a plausible design.
5th looks great, apart from the stock.

Looks like artist never holded any rifle in his arms...
I suggest you use #2 but give it the color of #4 (keep the glowing blue bit though, it complements the blue feeling of a lot of the concept art).
№ 2 looks the most balanced.
Wow, the response is wonderful, thanks sooo much you guys for posting! Just so you know, at least some of the guns will be sort taken after modern rifle (xm8, hk416, etc) because the tech in the game is like 2080 tech.
3 is my favorite so far, dirty but also technical
1 and 4 look like that one socom rifle I forgot the name of
2 looks a bit alien style (the movie)
5 looks nice too
