I am about to post a minor update. It is nothing to major. I worked on the a.i. a bit, a few of the lasers, and I fixed a few text issues I found. If you guys find any issues remember feel free to tell me. I appreciate any feedback, no matter how small.
So this morning I was battling on Fondor, and I thought I was going to lose because all I had on the surface was a barracks and a field commander. When the battled started I noticed civilians helping me, but they were all dying by infantry and pulse tanks. It was horrible they were getting ran over, their homes were exploding, some were running in different directions, and a few was actually shooting the Consortium units. I kept saying no, no, no run faster soldiers. Because my barracks was way off to the side and my soldiers had to run all the way around. Still the civilians kept the Consortium busy to the point that I was able to get the vanguard plex guys into positions to blast all their tanks. By the time they started to retreat all the civilian spawn buildings were destroyed and smoking and there was only a few of them left standing over a lot of dead ones. You brave bastards... thank you. It was really sad that they died... it was funny! But still very, very sad.
Perhaps you should consider beefing up the indigenous population a bit by tweaking the spawned squads so that they include a few citizens armed with military grade weapons, maybe a rocket launcher or two.
In real life, civilians can be anybody, and each has unique skills when it comes to their nations being invaded. Some civies are ex-military, some are police and security forces, - etc.
This is why I have never agreed with the standard wimpy civilian forces in the vanilla game. The most dangerous indigenous units are the people of Polus, because their weapons actually disable both a vehicle and its shields. In the past, I have actually lost units to the citizens of Polus, because they were created to be a threat, not laser fodder.
I must agree. Many indigenous lifeforms would also have different levels of weapons depending on the needs of the populous. Also I accidentally - this but I meant to + it so I do apologize.
Apology accepted, Rancor1401; it's an easy mistake to make, especially if one is using a mobile device like so many do here in the US.
I have done that, too -- accidentally down vote something I liked. Darth Saber's idea is a good one. It get's a up-vote from me.
That is a good idea Darth Saber. But I think a rocket launcher would be a little much. Especially sense the Empire put heavy restrictions on civilian ownership of weapons. I might make their blasters slightly stronger, though. I never thought about ex-military or police.
