Post news Report RSS Stargate Invasion goes to Entrenchment.

That's right, we are going to entrenchment. Sorry to anyone who thinks we didn't take things into consideration.

Alright everyone, I know that there are a few people here that dont want the mod to update to Entrenchment, but alas I have decided it is best for the mod. My reasons for doing so are simple, and I will explain them in a moment. Firstly, as some of you are aware my team and I are trying to work as hard and as fast as possible, but it is still difficult being that we have a couple of People in the UK, myself, Derbal and LordSet are in the states, so catching the whole team on at once is difficult. We are trying to get the mod out as soon as possible, but updating to Entrenchment with what we have already built is taking some time due to minidumps. Now I will explain my reasons why we are upgrading:

1. Starbases -- this adds a tactical advantage for all sides, and also makes the player think on how to defeat an opponents starbase.
2. Fighter movement -- With the Entrenchment Expansion, we can now have our ships move in battle, instead of picking a spot and firing from there. The Expansion also adds in 2 more fighter squads that we can use, and for the Humans, this is a good thing.
3. Research Upgrades -- We now have the ability to give ships and stations research upgrades that change the mesh as well, and with this, we can give the starbase, plus all our ships, several upgrades to make it more advanced.

I'm sorry if anyone feels like I didnt take things into consideration when deciding to upgrade to Entrenchment, but I did. I was hesitant at first, but then, once I got the game and played it for a couple hours, I realized that its got exactly what I want to make the mod complete in my eyes, and thats my reasoning.

While Entrenchment may add a lot of extra feutures into the game their are 2 problems.

1. Many people can't,won't,or don't need to buy it(me)
2. If you move to entrenchment you can't merge with 7ds!
(I was hoping to have a 3 way battle between the federation of planets the empire and the taur'i) :(

I understand that some people wont buy Entrenchment, but it is a decision we made as a team, and we will not go back on it now. As for merging it with 7DS, I have already talked with DanMan about it, and told him that once SGI is released, he has permission to merge our mod with his.

I'm disappointed with the entrenchment upgrade, since i will not be getting it for a long time, which will make this mod unplayable for me. But i must admit, it does seem to best for the mod. Shame stardock are so stingy and didnt release the game in full at the beginning.

Don't blame the Stargate Invasion team for upgrading, blame stardock!

Yeah, Stardock is the worst game company I've ever seen! They spent years making a groundbreaking game on a low budget, sold 500,000 copies, won several game of the year awards, and followed it up with great support and 3 new expansions. That's unacceptable!

Yup, galactic civilizations was good, but its not Sins of a Solar empire is it??? The whole thing being that if they had just waited a while longer, released Sins all in one go, instead of money grabbing mini-expansions, which still result in no campaign or storyline, then perhaps it'd better eh?
