Attention ZombieMod fans,
It is our pleasure to elaborate on the hint posted recently. ZombieMod will indeed be featuring Bandits as a playable faction with release. While they still have a long way to go, they will be an independent faction from the Survivors, and will be an enemy of survivors, zombies, and themselves.
In the darkest days after the initial infection, groups of survivors banded together to protect themselves from the undead and the elements. However, as time went on, these groups became hostile towards each other and other people. As the survivors, backed by the military, attempt to liberate the rest of the former United States, they face fierce resistance from bandit groups who are intent on retaining their power.
Bandits will be implemented via game modes that will swap them with the two standard factions (Survivors and Zombies), meaning that you cannot have Survivor + Bandit vs Zombies, or Zombies + Bandits vs Survivors, etc. If we see fit, we may make them a reward faction if this works better.
The Bandits will be a full faction, with three unique doctrines, their own tech tree, structures, and unique units. They will excel in asymmetrical warfare, using smaller numbers to take on the zombies and the survivors and will present a truly unique playstyle.
On an unrelated note, we would like to make a quick little advertisement. If you play DayZ, the "official ZombieMod server" is now online! There is a link in the mod's profile, as well as a link to the server's steam group.
