Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen!

Today we'd like to reveal something that is entirely new for most of you. First introduced for 1.802, this multiplayer only competetive game mode took a slightly different approach to how the battles are fought.
Instead of building a base, most of the structures are already present on the map right at the start. The players have limited cash at their disposal however they are rewarded for each enemy unit they destroy, regardless of their faction. In addition to their own forces, each team is supported by constant waves of AI controlled units that charge through the battlefield and attack any hostile in their path. Each of these groups consist of basic tanks as well as special units that excel at destroying air targets or providing long range support. Now the game mode will make it's official return in 1.85 with almost all of the new content and a few unique units and buildings specifically designed for these type of battles!

The Militia Jeep is a light and fast vehicle suited for recon purposes. It will be most seen patrolling around the player's home base. It's long line of sight and stealth detection capabilities reveal approaching enemies quick enough to allow reaction time for other deployed forces. Destroyed jeeps are replaced by new ones after a brief delay, making them very threatening for those planning on infiltration and sneaky flank attacks.

The Celebrus Turret is often seen in a strategic position near a base, where a row of these defense positions wait for any intruder foolish enough to get too close for comfort. Build on a sturdy steel-concrete base, the Celebrus sports a single 150mm laser-guided AT cannon with enough fire power to pierce a hole in any foe its target systems take hold of. It's HE shells are a nightmare for any foot soldier while the rear mounted six vertical missile-tubes take care of any aerial foe approaching its position in quick order. Last but not least, the Celebrus also has a sophisticated radar system that detects cloaked enemies over a moderate area, making life for any stealth units entirely miserable.

Finally something that breaths genuine life to the classic (or arguably outdated and anachronistic) game formula! Can't wait to see these matches on stream! Exciting times ahead!

Guess I am gonna get crucified for that first line... :'(

Not unless everyone else agrees.

(Which might be the case, as far as I'm concerned...)

Well I'd rather have the arena along with version 2.0 because with this addition it seems it will take a while longer for 1.85

don't worry, the whole arena game mode has no major impact on the release schedule of 1.85. : )

but still a delay that I would gladly see for version 2.0 since I really want to play 1.85 - so it will actually be fun to play other factions

Maybe you will allow player to build civilian vehicles in skirmish maps, even apart from arena mode? I think it might be interesting. My idea is to place special tech buildings (named like "Tech Military Warehouse") on maps, so you can capture it and produce civilian tech the same way as you biuld ships in Tech Docks. Just like in Red Alert 2: YR, where you can capture Tech Lab and build secret units. What do you think about it?

Sorry my Eng

We actually had an idea like that for the militia units. Whether or not it'll be implemented depends on the devs. :P

Yeah WTF I think it should be available for both really as I don't really like playing with players all the time since they tend to leave in game.
