Sudden Quake

Alien Harvest

Imagine rooting for the Strogg, who themselves are little more than vicious monsters in the Quake games, against a frustrating and overwhelming creature that might be worse.

This intense single-player custom mission from the Strogg perspective will see devastating swarms of hostile Artemisian witches attempt to overwhelm a Strogg slipgate.

It gets so bad that the Strogg will call in their pesky hornets and overwhelming harvesters from the air, but even they might not be enough.

SMC campaign on Artemis

The new human campaign.

Starting off at the dessicated, desecrated ground of the Strogg empire's original slipgate portal to this alien world, the Space Marine Corps (SMC) will once again be the first into the action in humanity's intersteller war on the cyborg menace.

The only problem is, the Marines have no idea where they are. They must establish their position in the Galaxy by capturing intel, so heavy reinforcements can arrive on interstellar ships and begin the campaign for real. If humanity is slow to act, the Strogg may fulfil their nefarious goals on this planet.

Any success the Strogg have with harvesting and "stroggifying" the aliens on Artemis could result in the creation of powerful new units to be unleashed against unsuspecting human forces.

New units

strogg nightmare

Strogg forces will eventually receive Nightmares, a terrifying fusion between one of the most brutal alien predators on the planet and a spider-like combat chassis of the kind only manufactured on Stroggos. Featured so far only in the SMC campaign on Artemis, their destruction is going to be an essential objective.

You may also notice the host creatures loose on the planet, able to deliver a nasty bite if they get close enough. They join a set of unique flora and fauna, including the already mentioned witch swarms, created just for this dark and strange alien landscape.

Humanity's own SMC troops will receive the trusty grenade launcher, packing a punch to help overcome enemy trenches. Amendments have also resulted in more aggressive Marine rocket infantry, who now won't hesitate to blast Strogg infantry like they always should have.

The Artemis missions are only a Halloween treat and a taste of what could come next. If there's enough interest, many new units could be created, including (if the game allows it) the giant 2.25 kilometer-long invasion ships featured at the start of Quake 4, a cancelled Marine bomber and innumerable variants of Strogg cyborgs that could be added to support later scenarios.

Additional settings are also going to arrive, including a volcanic moon in the Stroggos system, in future content.
