Report article RSS Feed Overgrowth is ModDB Editor's Choice for Best Upcoming Indie

This is probably our finest moment. As you're probably aware, we just were awarded the honor of ModDB Editor's Choice for Best Upcoming Indie. Aubrey has made some special art for the occasion!

Posted by jeffr on Jan 29th, 2010

As you've probably heard, ModDB announced today that Overgrowth was awarded the 2009 editor's choice award for the best upcoming indie game. This is quite an honor especially considering the calibur of the other games that were nominated by the ModDB community: Natural Selection 2, Encore!, Frozen Synapse and E.Y.E.

Aubrey made some art for the occasion!

IGOTY Wolf

This might add a little extra flare to the ModDB profile page.

Over the past year, we've had 2591 SVN commits, created about 4.41 GB of art, music, sounds and other game assets, and made countless new friends. It is humbling to look at our source repository and see how far we've come. We still have a long road ahead of us and we are more motivated than ever! Thanks everyone for the unbelievable support, and thanks ModDB for giving us this amazing honor. If Rabbot were still with us, I'm sure he would be proud.

We won't let you guys down.

If you read the original moddb post you know how I feel about this.

However, I wish you the best of luck in the future development. I'm sure this will be a kick *** game.

And once you've got the game, it will truly be the best indie game of 2xxx!

Thanks a ton for the support! It means a lot to me that even though you don't agree with the editor's decision, you're still wishing us and the project well.
