In this video I show some monolith models, along with a timelapse of the work that went into making one of them. I also have a new "3D concept drawing" based on an older image I did.

Be sure to watch it in HD!

I'm going to be finishing more of the rocks first, but after that I'm open to suggestions for what I should make next, so let me know in the comments!

You can check out the original version of the 3D concept here.

These are always amazing.
I think it's unique that you even do concepts for the rocks.
Someone could easily just scuplt a relatively rectangular blob and say "This, this is a rock."
But you plot everything out. It's really cool.

I agree. Being an avid user of 3D Studio Max, and a modder, I love seeing stuff like this. It even kinda functions as a tutorial, as I've had problems with Muddbox, and it was probably because I wasn't importing quad only objects.

Super impressive, thanks!

There should be giant worm creatures in the ground. no not saying you have to put it in. But i think it would be pretty cool.

Or just any type of giant bug. c:

Mudbox is a competitor to ZBrush. Mudbox is sold by Autodesk at the moment.

In the artworks the monoliths look great but in-game some of them look totally odd and out of place (like huge tusks). In additon try to use more variations and focus on finding a way to create better transitions of monoliths and ground resp. surrounding assets.

Apart from that the artworks look quite stunning.

I think the monliths look like some big *** bones ingame. I like it. Some spare ribs of a giant creature. Maybe it is growing and will some day emerge from the earth to slay Rabbots, Wolves and Cats and even the infamous whaleman ;)

Really like this game, originality beats the competition (which is?)!

BIG UP YOURSELF again!

love those frequent and especially very informative clips you show to the world. thanks a lot - if there'll be another "deal" for preordering soon i hope i won't miss it again ;)

can you tell me with what you record your paintings? and how you speed'em up like this? what program do you use to have that 2,5 D / 3D looking effect on your finished art piece at the end?

thanks for adding all these details to look out for! :)

<- fan.

Pretty sure it's just a program like camstudio/fraps to record, then after effects or premiere (or similar) to edit the layers and give it that "3d effect"
