The next version of Modular Combat will have over 15 new modules for you to play with. A module is an enhancement for your HEV Mark VI suit. Your hazard suit has near limitless possibilities for upgrades.
Here are a few of our more interesting modules...
- Teleport. Active. Teleport 42 feet forward through walls towards where your aiming.
- Plague. Passive. You are plagued with a disease that will kill your enemies in 180...30 seconds. Touch an enemy to infect them.
- Critical Hits. Passive. You have a 3% chance to deal four times your normal damage with each shot you take.
- Long Jump. Passive. Boost yourself in any direction you're facing by ducking and them jumping. Upgraded from the original model to include vertical motion.
- Minion Vortigaunt. Active. Spawn a Vortigaunt to recharge your Suit Power and fight for you. Vortigaunts take up 2 minion slots.
- Barnacles. Active. Spawn a Barnacle to trap your enemies and kill them. Barnacles take 100...50% of the damage they deal and has 50...150 health.
Along with these modules, we have a slew of new features to mention!
- New particle and sound effects for our modules!
- Improved AI behavior!
- You can now walk through your allies and minions, much like how it's done in TF2!
And here are a couple of shots from our internal copy!
Stay tuned next week for daily updates up to the release of Modular Combat v1.6!
Can't wait for the new release. I do hope that MC is eventually chosen for Steam (simply because of ease-of-use). Keep up the great work!
Hmm, If you think about it, the barnacle would be perfect in player Vs monsters, especially when the monsters can't shoot it at an angle (if there are walls on the ceiling). Do barnacle grab you if you touch them? Of course, the TF2 phasing thru players is one thing, but barnacles was scripted to grab anything that comes under it, including props.
Uhm... what's your point?
You mean that the barnacle is not working or that it should eat it's owner or what?
how about both?
We test it thoroughly before releasing, y'know. If something doesn't work we'll notice and fix it.
Is this mod usind the OB SDK?
We are using the OB SDK.
Can't wait for the next release.
