Some BFME II modifications (however small the amount of them is) are published on Desura. Yes, just three of them, but they are huge - you can check them out for yourself.
RC Mod
RC Mod is a modification for The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II & for The Lord of the Ring: The Battle for Middle-Earth II, The Rise of the Witch-King. This mod changes many things to BFME 2. Adds some new factions, a couple of campaigns, many units & heroes, alot of maps and it will improve the CAH System. This mod changes the gameplay making it work a bit more like BFME 1 and how BFME 2 should have been!
Walroth
New units, new skills, new sounds and heroes of all races added.
Rise of Rome II: The Gods of War
Rise of Rome II: The Gods of War is the sequel to Rise of Rome, one of the most popular modifications for Battle for Middle Earth. Using new technology inherent in the BFME 2 engine, RoR2 will dynamically change in gameplay over its predecessor. You'll be faced with the decision of which god to honor at your temple, and that choice will ultimately determine what units, buildings, and upgrades you'll be able to purchase. RoR2 is simply not a port of RoR1, as no art assets are being reused. Everything is being remade to enhance the visual appeal and immersiveness of the Rise of Rome series. RoR2 will feature 4 sides: Rome, Carthage, Greece, and Gaul. Each faction will then have 3 different Gods you can honor, which will equate to subfactions. Also some mythological figures and monsters were introduced as controllable units on the field of battle.

Note that all above mods were tested only on English 1.06 patch for BFME II. So you should download an update using the option "check for update" that can be found in your game launcher or manually update the game.
Great news. I still love me my BfME2. Any chance of Rise of the Witch King support too?
Yup, RotWK mods should be up next week.
I spent... I think 15 dollars on this game? Yet I still feel as if I wasted a big amount of money... on a half finished project.
Is it actually still possible to play MP after EA shut the server down?
No, not possible it seems.
Somebody would have to convince EA to officially transfer appropriate server rights/data to a private/fan-driven server such as XWIS online.
Yes, it is possible with programmes like hamachi or tunngle.
It was always possible with Hamachi and similar programs.
The official servers are down, no chance or mention of private ones anywhere though (at the moment they're "illegal" anyways).

Nice, allready installing my battle for middle eart 1 and 2!
lol, never expected to get some Desura love for my old college project. Thanks guys!
Any chance of The Peloponnesian Wars being included?
There is a huge chance.
As you can see, only mods with "released" not "TBD" dates were published. If The Peloponnesian Wars author set his mod profile to "released", it could have been published along with others.
