Making dinosaur models sure seems like a profitable business
Sounds like a complex situation, but at least you know your models are worth quite a bit of dosh to quite a few people. Perhaps you can fund development by selling some stuff on the unity asset store for realsies this time?
Try not to let this leave a bad taste in your mouth, seems like a good research project to me.
Hey look on the bright side, if everybody is buying your models it means they're really good models! Still isn't good that they were stolen.

Those models in-whole are not the property of the modeler, texturer or animator. It was wrong to sell it without permission.
Don't let this bring you down... Keep at it! Keep developing for the love of games and the fun of creativity.

So the update is no update but a rant about a modeler trying to make some bucks with work he produced himself, to a great extent? I mean, you have my sympathies, but I don't think it's wrong for a modeler to sell what he created. If the people who created (some of the) textures were still on the team (I doubt it) they should have been contacted first in order to figure out a deal. If they don't care or moved on, good for them.
What I can't stand is the whining about stolen models from a project that had no real updates for years. It's better someone uses them at all, imho. Modeling is a hard life and if you want to sell on Unity store, etc. packages of models will sell better than single ones. In fact, sometimes only packages of several models are accepted. Finish the mod, you know you got kickass Dinos and animations, no matter who else uses them.
I created this video primarily to inform people. We were starting to receive questions like why beast of prey is using Jurassic Life's dinosaur models. This video, I hope, explains why.

WWII propaganda must seem like pure infotainment to you then.
If it was meant to inform you wouldn't have needed to show money showers and imply that the guy got insanely rich. You evoke the image of the greedy modeler jew, who stole all your gold. When in reality, he is probably a guy struggling with making money of modeling and getting hired and tried to put some of his prior work to good use. You might have ruined his rep on the store for what exactly? The satisfaction that you can call some models exclusive, even though you never paid anything for them at all? Your motives seem unclear to yourself, if you believe this video was informative.
intelectual properties infringment do you kno what this mean ?, the model are not the one made the guy who had sold them on the asset store. The models are not authorized for the use in all the game listed in the video.
how many guy earn money from the work i made myslef for free on that project ?

Developper don't want to listen use, , i don't want to report to the DMCA , so we want these project to use our models, and mainly beasts of prey with the one i had been in contact, but the dev just don't care about that..

For anyone thinking that all models were made by the seller. Not true! Things were used without permission.

You have completely misunderstood the situation SinKing. Things were stolen. End of discussion. But we tried to solve it the best way we could.
The person who did it did only harm on his own person but we know there is regret and we reached the conclusion to resolve this by donating the money.

I hope you're not serious.
I was sick lying in bed for 7 months (sick since august 2013). I almost had to sell my apartment because my financial situation got screwed over). That is one reason to fewer updates. But I hoped to return.
I could have taken my JL models and sold them too. But I wanted to keep them exclusive... and what happens. Someone takes one of the models and sells them. You have no idea how disappointing that is.
The video just talk about the Facts, only the fact.
Additionnaly greg has properly reproduce the time line of our personnal discoveries time after time.
I am also in financial crisis myself, but fortunaltely i had been impacted the less, cause the models of the brachiosaurus is a very old version, but the texture still are mine. the good is that gallimimus and the compsognathus are safe and hasn't been stolen.
Wow that sucked but the good news is at least this mod isn't dead but don't let those things bother you just keep it up! Also next year were getting a new Jurassic Park movie that looks awesome!

This is probably all to common and shouldn't happen, if a modeler makes models for any project, they should sign over those models for use in only that project, as a note, devs try to ensure this happens so you have a legal precedent incase your work ever gets decompiled and sold.

@TKAzA thank you for comment , i agree this should never happen , and now we should put something in place to prevent this to happen again and more as we are to redo most of our models of dinosaurs, we wanted them to be unice piece of art, that felt down with this incident.
