It is January 15th, 2010 and that means the first Road to the Future of a new year! The holiday season finished up a couple weeks ago and as stated on the 1st of the Month Update work is on the rise. If you think it is too good to be true, then keep reading to find out.

It is about time to welcome a new developer that was freshly picked from our Beta Testers.

Stefan "Semmel" Klapf - Level Design / Mapper

Just over a month ago we showed you Semmel's map Falaise. He is now officially working for the Resistance and Liberation team to make new maps and fix old ones. I have a feeling we will get some great media out of him.

The RnL Team is still in need of more developers. If you would like to dedicate some time to help this mod grow and you know coding, modeling, animating, mapping, or texturing then please click here. Also, if you have any other skills that you believe could help us out in any way, please let us know via PM on the forums or through the link above.

The PR group wanted to bug the other developers with questions to see what they have been working on. We decided that with the information we gathered, the best way to give you all a taste of it is with another:

Updates from the Team

Stefan Bermig

"We all want a little fresh air (new maps) in this mod, don't we? Therefore, I am working on a new map where the train engine that was shown on twitter will be debuted. Also, I am setting the weights of the new player model we've shown."

Eero R.

"Adding some finishing touches to the website visuals along with working on the PIR model texture. I feel that the new website design is worth the numerous delays its had and will, hopefully, spur growth in the RnL community."

Ryan Cameron

"Currently, I am working on finalizing the animations for the Browning Automatic Rifle and M1 Carbine. I am also redoing the Browning .30 Cal and MG42 animations that were put in Alpha 4 as placeholders."

Til Sichel

"Do you remember the trolley car from last April or the name Aachen? Lately, I have been porting the map rnl_aachen to the Beta and trying to get it finished up."

Eric Murphy

"Hunnicutt and I have actually took our mapping knowledge and did some fixes to a couple of maps. I also reinstalled 3DS Max in hopes that I can get some time to make small map props to accentuate the in-game environment."

Robin Morris

"I like to think that what I am doing will play the biggest, best role in the entire mod, ever. By that, I mean I have been working on the finishing touches of Carentan Causeway along with giving it a couple of updates."

If you have been following RnL, then you probably already noticed the missing Q and A section. We haven't received any more questions over the last month for that section. If you have any questions that you would like answered, PM the Public Relations department (Hunnicutt or Murphy). If there are enough submitted questions, they will be featured in the next RTTF.

That is all we have to show you for this mid-month RTTF, so stick around for the next update on February 1st!

Great Design and Layout of the news. Contentwise I am a bit disappointed as I hoped for an beta-release date announcement.

Every time I see this, I feel worse and worse about my mapping. I mean that as a compliment.

This is what DOD:S should have been.

It's basically RO on the source engine; impressive work!
