Hey guys,
So to state the rather obvious; Lost Hope died a slow and painful death.
Now before we all start crying I'd like to state that the idea and story aren't dead, and that production of this, once mod and now story, will continue using a different medium.
The Lost Hope story will be told in the form of a graphic novel.
That's right, its going 2D. It was a hard choice to make, but I feel that it is a more achievable goal, as the goals and ambitions of the mod where simply put 'to high'. To follow the progress of the graphic novel, head over to Kattevoer's (Felix van den Bergh) blog.
We, the Lost Hope Dev team, would like to thank you all for supporting and following of our mod. It has been a wonderful ride. Peace, we love you all : )
-The Lost Hope Dev team
I believe if the files you and the dev team have made and gave it to another group of peoplethat could finish the mod. I was really hoping to play such a mod. As Heavy Weapons Guy would say, "It is sad day!"
No, its like letting someone else finish your drawing. Doesn't feel right. And I doubt another (modding) team could finish what we envisioned. We where basically working on a commercial title in our spare time, a very unrealistic goal.
finish it, and sell it grrrrrrr i dont care if you take 5 years to do so
Play it right, and it can be a movie...
Then a game... :P
Absolutely, now I just need about 10 million and a production company to get this of the ground... ; )
Well, I am in film school :P
PARALLEL ADVANCEMENT.
very sad to hear, love the style this mod has and really hoped for it to be finished someday. oh well, good luck with whatever else you choose to continue with and looking forward to reading the graphic novel
Thanks for your support, Chompster.
Any chance of getting any unreleased concept art out? Or if we're really lucky even just release some of the buildings for people to study?
Yes, Probably. Somewhere in the near future. We still have unreleased weapons and characters that we could put up here...
I just wanted to comment on what a terrible loss it is, to not see those awesome maps
come to release, just take a look at '' G-string Mod ''
i would've easily believed your project, to do as good.
Could you not make this game as a commercial release ????
Artwork is fantastic ( you guys are working at Guerilla now ?? )
''' Don't stop, use the artwork as cutscene material,
you can easily achive something great that way ''' greets
Maybe, although I dont believe the mod lends itself well for a commercial title... Maybe one day. ; )
will definately buy the novel when its released
Thanks for your support! we appreciate it!
Damnit, I absolutely hate it when mods die...it's just sad. Even if you haven't followed the mod at all..
90% of the mods die at some point... Its part of it. Thanks for you condolences... ; )
My one hope for a ghost in the shell like masterpiece has crumbled! Ah so! Best luck for all your future projects: Your talent is immense!!
Neotokyo is still there..
I'm glad you've found a means of reaching an attainable goal, it's always important to pursue your passion in life, and it takes a lot of guts to call off something you've worked your *** off for. Coming from this site, I'm sure there are many who understand that feeling!
Thanks for that comment man, truth be told. : )
You guys made a really good job...
But I understand! I know it's a lot a work to make a good mod!
indeed indeed! thanks for your support.
rip :(
Its going to be a Remake-Involving-(lots of)-Paper indeed :(
It ain't dead. It just Phoenix'd.
Kinda ; )
It's always sad to see a mod slip through the cracks, but frankly I didn't even know I was watching this until I got this in my inbox.
Ha! Well, now you know.
Good luck. I know Zeitgeist had a written chapter, in both german and english, describing that mod setting. You can probarly write too.
Care to share a link?
what a shame, what a shame. i was really looking forward to playing this mod! but it is like you say, most mods die. and,
"..the goals and ambitions of the mod where simply put 'to high'. "
is a commen mistake that many modders make.
i do hope that you will release assets, because it would be a waste of time and effort to just let them slip away or die on your hard disk. by giving them to the public they still will show up in some mods. i for one am really interested if you have nice vehicles that i maybe could use. i will pm you about it.
what a shame, a great mod has died!!
Leon
Hello i know no one no longer has hope in this mod as it had been a few years from the last comment so i would ask you to if you could release what you made if you cant its ok
