Our lead sound engineer Vance (Sonic) has given us his video about the recordings on the Iron Grip weapons.
The video illustrates how Sonic and a friend go out on location and fire actual life rounds. Sonic wants the best quality of sounds, and authenticity for the Iron Grip audio.
The video is also a must-have for anybody interested in Sound engineering, for it explains how to setup such an event, as well as record it!
Sonic has been in the professional industry for a long time, so any advice/explanations from him, are a valuable asset!

Fantastic. The sounds the guns made were facinating. I have always wondered about the process of engineering gun shot sounds.
Well you don't see this often! Good one sonic, the vid is interesting and imformative - it looked like alot of fun. Alot of mods here don't seem to even consider sound design when creating their ideal full conversions... it really is something that can totally change the feel of any stock game.
There is usually a MAJOR difference between a mod leader tweaking a few of the vanilla sounds, ripping them from other game or using sound libraries to a professional sound designer recording his/her own and editing them in a pro studio setup.
MODS take note - this is some serious work.

that video was really awesome and really informative. im sure these sounds came out good. i really liked the end returning the box. lol
i wonder how much that sound shoot cost.
That was awsome! I could never guess that you made sounds like that.
Just amazing, extremly amazing.
