There are still a few more weeks of work needed on the public pre-alpha build of Gang Beasts before we can make it public; to date we have made a number of the modifications we listed in the last post, the pre-alpha now has:
- support for multiple game controllers (with potential support for 10 players)
- a Company Boot animation
- a Title Screen with Game Logo
- a Menu / Level Selection screen
- fixes for basic AI annoyances
- in-game music
We still need to add:
- additional fight moves
- drop-in / drop-out support (for players joining / leaving mid-game)
- more sample content
- in-game sound
The sample content we are currently planning to include in the public pre-alpha are:
- The Building Gondolas fight scene
- The Street scene
- The Speeding Truck fight scene (please see the embedded video for a brutal demonstration)
We are also planning to include a sandbox level for testing and demonstrating raw gameplay mechanics and concepts. We will post a link to the pre-alpha build as soon as we have made it available for download.
Thank you to the members who are tracking Gang Beasts and Grim Beasts and to the members and non-members that have made comments or sent messages, it is motivating to see that there is interest in our games.
I love this game. Keep up the awesome work.
Hello Marty, I got your email, it was fun speaking with you about the game at the TGDN event.
For reference we are planning to use the Playtesting section of the The Independent Gaming Source forums (http://forums.tigsource.com) to compile feedback on Gang Beasts from players, I can let you know when I have started the thread if you are interested in play testing the game.
We will also be writing a higher frequency dev log on the TIG source forums later this weekend (the plan is to post significant updates to IndieDB and granular updates to the TIG Source forums).
amazing guys.... looks very fun....
Thanks -Nilo-, I can confirm that the '...looks very fun...' part of your comment is valid (or at least the people we have played it with have enjoyed grabbing and punching us).
where can i download the "public pre alpha"?
The pre-alpha is still a few weeks away. We will post a link to the download page on IndieDB and the games Twitter account (@gangbeasts) and Facebook page (/gangbeasts) as soon as we can make it available.
They have funky dance moves!
For context you should watch the shapes their little friend with the large head throws down (see Vine.co)
This looks really promising
This game looks so fun. Keep up the great work!
