New Eidolons

The past few weeks a lot of time was spent reworking certain Eidolon sprites as well as designing and implementing new Eidolons. Here's an example of some of the newest Eidolons implemented:

New Eidolons
From left to right: Raiju, Penumbrella, Hoofnir, Fukudama.

Penumbrella in particular is a special Eidolon as it is only obtainable from an extensive side quest that will take place throughout the first half of the game.

Arcadia City Graphics Revamp

The main city of the game has received a significant rework. For starters, the city's overworld was re-designed from scratch to leave more space for side quests and hidden treasure in the overworld.

Arcadia City

Random encounters were also added to Arcadia City since the city covers a much larger area now and it even features a unique Eidolon that cannot be obtained anywhere else, Hoofnir. As with every other area in the game, a unique battle background was implemented for battles within Arcadia City.

Battle System Improvements

After a few grueling days of working on bug fixes focused primarily around the battle system, I decided to implement a floating text message for when an Eidolon's feature triggers. The end goal is to improve visual clarity with certain effects that occur outside of the directed attack sequences. This system is going to be expanded to support Auto abilities as well, since they behave the same.

Technical Attack

As demonstrated in this picture, our Daiasuzume exploited an enemy's weakness which in turn led to the activation of his feature "Technical Attack".

The Forest - Preview

Progress with the game's main story has started to speed up, with the creation of large amount of assets for the next major dungeon. Here's a sneak preview of the Forest area that I've been working on.

Steam Store!

I'm really excited to announce that the game's Steam store page is finally live! If you're interested in the game or wish to support this project please consider wishlisting the game.

I'd like to thank you for reading to the end of this week's developer log. If you're interested in more frequent updates about the project you can follow me here.

Until next time.
