Edain 4.0 Preview Livestream
Some of you may have been following the recent Edain Masters Tournament. This tournament was organized, commentated and streamed live on Twitch by dedicated fans of Edain. In case you missed it, you can catch all the most important matches on their Youtube channel. Some games even hosted a Edain Team Member as a guest commentator (note however, that the commentary is in German).
After the finals, we decided that we could take this collaboration even further. This Sunday, December 7th at 20:00 CET, we will stream the first public matches of Edain 4.0 on Twitch! You will be able to watch on this channel:
Alongside Edain Masters Member Caun, all three games will be commentated by Edain Team Member Lord of Mordor and varying guests including another Team Member, Gnomi. Unfortunately, that commentary will also be in German. We realize this is not ideal for non-German fans, but even so you'll get to see your first glimpse of unvarnished 4.0 gameplay. Of course, this version is unfinished and has not been played nearly as extensively as version 3.8.1, but we're still looking forward to giving you this first look! If you miss the stream, we'll upload all games to the Edain Youtube channel as soon as possible:

You shouldn't, there's no way all the new features could be finished, balanced, playtested, fledged out and polished in only the next 2-3 weeks.
But maybe, only maybe, you can hold in in your hands before christmas 2015 ;-)
If this was released on christmas it would be the best christmas present ever!

I loved the livestream, thank you for organising that! I did not see everything, so hopefully I'll be able to when you guys upload stuff on Youtube. :-)
I do have a question though: wouldn't it be possible to release Edain 4.0 as you have now created it and pull through other adjustments via updates that come later?

We are happy that you enjoyed the livestream.
There are too many things that are not ready to release the mod yet. Most of it would still be unplayable.
You say here that most of it would be unplayable, but in the comments section for the livestream of build 4.0, the official Edain-Mod commenter for the channel says:
"There is some stuff still left to do, but most of it is polishing at this point, yes."
