So once again, it's been tiring as hell. We're in mid November already, and there hasn't much of an update in terms of the feature department at modDB. But let me tell you, we've all been hard at work. Tons of great articles are coming up, and significant ones too might I add. modstars, combine destiny, etc, etc. But heres something today for you that should get all you folks giddy and excited. Why? Because, believe it or not, you have the chance of winning something.
You've heard its name. You've seen its screen shots. Maybe you even read the remarkably well done review for it. But now the time has come for you to own it. Made by a small group of dedicated individuals at Introversion Software, Darwinia is one of the best independant games to hit the market, combining the best elements of old-sk00l arcade games and modern day 3D strategy titles into a seemless blend of retro cool that every gamer owes to themselves to try. And now you can, free of charge! Thanks to the generosity of the Introversion Software team, Mod Database is here to bring you the Darwinia Photo Contest, allowing you to spray your creative juices all over the internet and get a free CD and game for your troubles. Cool, huh? Well everyone, you know the drill. I think it's time to get cranking. Please remember to submit all entries here
Darwinia Photo Contest
Sweet
Yea ^
...would have a lot to say about you, MCC, what with your "spraying of creative juices" and "cranking of drills" :P
Good to see more publicity for UK-based independant developers, not to mention an astoundingly good game.
If you don't win, fear not. Darwinia will be available worldwide on Steam from December 14th! :D
You can get the demo from all good game websites like gamespot.com which also has the new v1.3 demo.
Nice.
Look forward to winning :)
I didn't care for Darwinia... Convoluted game design and boring beyond the novelty.
Convoluted is the last word I would use to describe it. :s
in the sense that the gameplay types didn't mesh at all but instead were just clumsily jammed together into a steaming pile of sub-mediocrity.
Yes, that can happen when you don't let go of genre preconceptions. :)
Whoa, I had read that about Darwinia coming to STEAM before. That is awesome news. Way to go, Introversion Software!
And how did the gameplay types not mesh at all? It seemed intuitive enough for me.
i think I'm the only one not excited about it being on steam. :)
it's lonely in my little box!
"Spraying of creative juices" was my line, not Chop's.
When is the demo?
demo's already out. Thanks to valve, you can't get it from the origional site anymore. Just goole darwinia-demo.exe
you'll find it (it's pretty cool)
Haha, wow. This game plays quite a bit better than it looks.
I downloaded the Demo, and I highly advise everyone to, and then buy the game.
The upgrading system takes a bit long though, but that was a short level without many virii.
This game rocks my socks off. Ha.
...or you could enter the contest and win it for free. FREE I TELL YOU!!!
Argh! I wish more people would participate in the contest, even though it would make it harder for me to win. ;P
