Ugh, that ugly double-barrel. Why not a good old BM-16 long?
Its called a "coach gun". Short enough to be stowed in a vehicle, enough barrel to get the lead up to speed. That setup is where we get the phrase "riding shotgun"

Sure, we've had FALs for quite a while. You usually start seeing them when you get to Yantar or thereabouts. Semi-uncommon.
