How-to: Launch ZoA Under Linux Thread - Zone of Alienation mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl

*** This is assuming you've already installed the vanilla game using either PlayOnLinux (recommended) or just generic Wine. ***

The game would crash on startup with the mod installed when playing on Linux. The problem turns out to be the leftover Thumbs.db files in various sub-directories in gamedata folder. To remove them do this in terminal:

cd /path/to/gamedata
find -type f -name "Thumbs.db" -exec rm {} \;
