Background
In 2129, the world undercame a great change. A large corporation, named Xones, created something that can only be described as a "virtual world", this is an understatement. It required a 50 story building to house the proccessing power to control the elements of the Xone. DSL could no longer support enough bandwidth for users to connect and live in this world. XDSL was born. Between the years of 2130 and now, the world was built. Now, it is possible to do anything in the virtual world, the world is growing dumb, and the planet isnt cared for.
Welcome to 2150. A group of elite programmers and hackers have become bored of the Xone. They dream of a world back in reality, with computers powering the future, where they are of use, rather than the world where all is easy to make and control. There is no space for programmers in the Xone, as all fundemental real world laws have been implemented.
Xones has mustered a counter-force. The internet police. Armed with a wide array of tools and weapons they must defeat the hackers.
Gameplay
You must choose a side. For or against. Then using either an arsenal of weapons and gadgets provided by the Xone corporation or using the leaked modified tools of the hackers.
The levels are based inside the "working" areas of the Xone. The areas where it works out how the world works, there are points where the Hackers can gain control of the system.
Classes
There are several classes, representing the parts played by the Internet Police and the Hackers.
There is the Reverse Engineer. He is a master of how computers work, and is able to alter the Xone very slightly.
There is the Assault class. He is well equipped with weapons and has good natural aiming ability. He can also weather several hits before being brought down.
There is the Assassin Class. He has good aiming powers, aided by some modifications. He can not carry a large amount of weapons, but has the advantage of stealth. He can also use Ninja like ablity's, like wall running.
There is the Sniper Class. He has superior aiming ablity's and can use a camo blanket while prone, he also is armed with a High Powered Rifle.
Will it be Singleplayer Or Multiplayer?
The beta will be multiplayer only to asses the mod as a whole, and if the general feedback is good then we will probably make a story mode as well.

Just a small update on Xones, The cyberspace hacker mod that we've all been working on recently.
Ricky has been poking around the code to make it the best it can possibly be, pushing source to it's limits. But this comes at a price, to say that Xones_PA3 (Pre-Alpha) is stable, is like saying Uranium is stable.
So we're currently ironing out the bugs ready for PA4, which will add scoring.
The weapon HUD selection menus are looking awsome, with a cool sidewards scroll effect, also implemented is the flags and the flag capture points. You have to pick up a flag, and take it to the capture point, where it will jump into it like the plugs in HL2. Now just so you understand quite how much effort this took, consider that valve used 5-6 different entities in the map to achieve this effect. Ricky has manged to do it in just 2. The flag and the plug socket.

This is very well thought out, I like this idea of a perfect place,... it will never last, also its got some "matrix" ideas.
Well yes, the theme is loosely based on the matrix, Though we are adding lots of original elements too.
