Someone suggested I make a Mod page for the DLC addons rather than keeping them as a loose file to get lost in the Files section for Battlefront 2.
On December 19, 2005, LucasArts released the first of two downloadable packages for the Xbox version of Battlefront II. The free content added the Hero Assault mode to Kashyyyk. Another Xbox Live download was made available on January 31, 2006, which added two new hero characters, Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress, as well as four remade maps from the original Star Wars: Battlefront; Yavin 4: Arena, Bespin: Cloud City, Rhen Var Harbor and Rhen Var Citadel. In addition, Hero Assault modes were also added to Coruscant, Mygeeto, and Naboo. It sold for USD $4.99. The downloadable content was no longer officially available as the original Xbox Live servers were shut down on April 15, 2010, until it was added back to the backwards compatible version of Star Wars Battlefront II for the Xbox One for free.
Luckily, the official DLC Heroes had been given to modders by former Pandemic Staff however, there were complications as the Xbox Live update brought in increased limitations allowing for them to load in the new heroes, without those increased limits the Heroes are never going to work correctly - luckily users on Gametoast had previously modified the heroes to work on PC, modifying them to fit within PC limitations. In 2024 a animator known as Ryan Hank also solved a mysterious issue that prevented the DLC heroes from loading together or on Hero Assault allowing this mod to become the absolute closest thing possible to the original DLC for PC users.
In 2020 a user known as SleepKiller created a tool to directly port across the maps and files from the Xbox DLC and shortly after iamashaymin fixed up a new Core.lvl and Mission Scripts for the maps as well as introducing the fixed heroes for PC, this evolved into an accurate recreation project for the DLC with additional support for the PC platform such as texture pack/skin pack support, compatibility with HarrisonFog's Remaster Project and other optional files like loadscreen support and bug fixes.
If you like this mod, I highly recommend advertising it further and promoting it to your friends and communities.

I have installed only this mod for BF2 and this results in some..... very bizarre graphical issues.
Most commonly, black screens during gameplay on any map,
For example, when selecting a class in a game of conquest i can select the soldier class and sniper class, but selecting the heavy class results in a black screen that prevents me from seeing the other buttons (the black screen goes away if i click escape but returns once i unpause)
If i click back to the sniper class (blindly since i cannot see) the screen goes back to normal. this sometimes also randomly happens during gameplay but i'm not sure what causes these black screens, it doesn't appear to be loading or looking at a certain model or texture.
Hey I had the same issue, turning off discord overlay fixed it for me.

Please fix the missing names by adding proper localization to all supported languages! Not everyone plays in English!
This is assuming there is a multi-national team behind this and not 1 guy, who plays in English.

It seems hero AI on Yavin 4: Arena has broken pathfinding. Most noticeble in the included Hero Assault mode where everyone just keeps running into the nearest wall.
That's an odd bug, if the standard infantry in normal modes doesn't have any pathfinding issues neither should the heroes on hero assault.
I am having such a hard time finding what I'm looking for anywhere online...has anyone uploaded the DLC for the actual Xbox? So I can download it and FTP it to the TDATA on my original console? I'm very grateful to Xbox and whomever else was responsible for updating and adding the DLC to the backwards compatible game on XB1, however it had the unfortunate side effect of making LAN games now impossible to find out cross-platform since my OG Xboxes all have the vanilla game. Before the update, I was having a blast playing LAN Battlefront with my buddies across 3 generations of Xbox.
Bro you can explain more about how to do LAN games with Battlefront II? I missed the whole online era of this game sadly, and that sounds incredible. Me and a buddy both have the backwards compatible game on Xbox Series S, is there a way we can do LAN? Also, did you figure out your DLC problem?
