Orks actually winning a battle vs dwarfs? Did not think that was possible.
It's really hard but not impossible
I managed to build a sizeable army of orcs and we attacked a bunch of dwarves (Not even half our numbers) and we got wrecked, not even managed to kill 1 dwarf, all our hits would just bounce off the little runts :/
Belive me that it's hard but not impossible....build a char with good sugery skills or hire a good healer and level troops as much as you can plus hire some ogres (doesen't matter the proficiency)and with his tactic I manage to battle against dwarves/empire armies the size between 100/180 men with only 85 soldiers and win only losing a few of them (losses that I replenish almost instantly from the enemies prisoner's pool)
Main problems I had with fighting dwarfs were those rifles that killed my man with 1 shot from a good distance and that bounce off lexyz123 mentioned. Had that problem as tomb kings vs goblins. Hit area is a bit messed up and sometimes it is liek you tried to hit a wall.
I always max surgery skill. I believe it is the most vital one in this game. And man were surprisingly...easy to deal with. Like Chaos their only real threat is the rare and few mounted knights.
Crowd the dwarves infantry and let the cavalry charge those little bastard riflemen. Once the infantry is dead it's time for the SHOOTY GITZ to die ;)
P.S.: I do not use archers very much and even cavalry is limited to more or less 10 soldiers...the big deal with orcs is their top infantry units (BLACK ORC IMMORTULS!!)

Well gotta get to slowly leveling a new char since I deleted my old orc by accident.
And I rarely use archers in Warband. Mostly in castle garrisons.
Meh, archers are good, but they're not the best for the orcs...good ranged troops are High and Dark Elves ones and Bretonnian Yeomen, then there are lots of awesome riflemen/gunners/cannoneers (those pirate lads are awesome) and even awesome throwing troops (some of the best are from Araby and Lizardmen factions, but people seems to forget about them)....still ORCS AR' MED FER FIGHTIN' so they're better with 'EAVY CHOPPAS AN'CLOBBAS TO SMASH AND SQUISH LITTUL HUMIES AN DWORFZ!! >:D ['appy Orc face]
Can you give me some tips for the start? As an Ork it is kinda hard to lvl up , get soldiers as there are not that many orkish villages and be able to fight the dwarfs as ai generals get slaughtered too easily.
Ok, there are three ways for doing so: 1) I write a little guide on my page 2) I pm you 3) I write it there....Honestly I think I'm gonna write a guide however so if anyone is interested get there and you'll get those tips ;)
those orcs probaly are of steel because they manage to win vs the dwarvens o_O

I've completely wiped out the dwarfs with my orcs, you just gotta force they're melee units to fight yours while you flank their ranged units with your cavalry.
