I've been going over several basic looks for martian machines and I thought I might ask our watchers which combination they think looks most menacing.
The red exhaust has been changed to green due to the nature of Martian Viridigen gas.
And no, the Martians are not getting into the spirit of Christmas...
Yet...
now just got to find something to take them down with....

The Red or Purple combinations would be the most menacing of the four, I think. Green is a color that comes to mind when I think "allies", though you could use that ironically. And the Blue just doesn't really look threatening to me.

Well seeing that the Martians loved their green in the novel, the heat-ray, the fumes and the exhaust from the cylinders, then I'll go with green. A bit more accurate that way, but the other colours would work too.
I totally agree with that, except for the "other colours would work too" part, maybe that's just me, stick with the trusted and old stuff but it would be more accurate though.
