War of the Silmarils is a sub-mod of Third Age: Total War, the ever popular total conversion for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. The goal is to follow the lore as closely as possible and faithfully reproduce the heroic First Age of Tolkien's Middle-earth in the Medieval II: Total War engine. War of the Silmarils features many new unique factions, each complete with a roster of units, a completely new campaign map of Beleriand and the lands to the North, and much more. So if you're one of the many who have been enthralled by Tolkien's mystical world, this is a mod to watch!

With firm dependable elven bows even the least skilled archers amongst the noldor make orcs run in terror if the arrow doesnt hit they're mouth first any capable Eldar lord with use these Archers wisely though these men are no trained warriors they wish to return home to they're forests and homes dont push them too hardly or they will waver

The militias of the Noldor are raised from the peaceful builder, hunter and gardener-folk of the Noldor in times of grave peril. ALthough they are not as greatly skilled as their professional kin, these warriors are still the Children of Illuvatar; keen-eyed, steady-handed and not craven. Into militias wielding the blade and into corps wielding the bow the free-folk are raised, and then equipped by the armouries of the lords whose lands they keep. Although not professional archers, the militia archers of the Noldor still surpass the skill of the archers of Morgoth's hosts, and that of many of the Edain archers. The archer militias are girt only with cloaks and their robes, and are armed with a blade and bow, with which they can be expected to hold their own against the rabble of Morgoth, although they fall quickly when set upon by the fiercer of orcs.
