What a hell? May be you should add some contrast to the images by color correction? Or lower the fog intencity? I can see anything but a gray overlay...
And what happened with cold-blue color-scheme post effect? Oo
I was loved it... Where did it gone?

Each set of levels use their own post processing effects. This here is the sewers, and we want them to be very vague and dark. The outdoor levels have the intense, blue color correction. Some dark indoor levels use this color correction, other levels use other forms of post processing effects. :)

Oh wow, thanks for the suggestions.
I can explain a few things about these shots, since Im mapping it..

1. Its a different area and a theme than the street levels, so its ment to look somewhat different from what you´ve seen so far (ie Hovgård streets). And the further you go in the sewer, the more it changes from that original blue colour scheme. VERY drastically.

2. Its underground, like, very very very much beneath the street level, so its just impossible for sun/moonlight to penetrate there, plus given the town has been cut out of electricity and maintenance for ages, there´s no possibility for artificial light sources in there either. It also explains the plants, since the whole sewer bit is covered with overgrowth and decay. But yeah, so far the place is light with subtle ambient lighting and different fog setups. The haze should also tell you about the amount of moisture in there. I hate pitch black darkness, its disorienting, and forces you to use a flashlight all the time, so that wont be an issue here.

3. The big black ball in that first image on your edits is a pokemon.

That or a boiler of somekind. Its more appaerant when you walk around in-game, even like 2-3 steps, and get a better sense of the geometry / space.

4. I´ve given focus for those small tunnels with foamy, moving water. It looks pretty cool in motion or closer by.

+for the silhouette and contrast stuff, I´ll work on those!

I think you and the team know exactly what your doing. It's all about atmosphere down here and you have a serious strength in that area. I dare anyone to dispute that. Lauds !

Why would vine be growing in a sewer? Other than that it looks great.

Uhm... Dirt, branches, random organic stuff, water, lighting, moist environment... Of course a rather small set of vegetation should be down there. :P

Thanks anyway :)

Love the atmosphere. Really gives the impression that it's dark and hard to see where you are.

Description

Zomg, it's the underworld!!1!1

Atmosphere: The atmosphere is built up using sprites, environment lights and (heavy) color correction.

Grain effect and black bars: Yes, these are made in Photoshop. The screenshots have not been altered in ANY other way.

Vignette effect: This is an effect that is 100% in-game and working. For those of you who dont know what it is, it's the blackened out borders of the screen. It adds for a more claustrophobic feeling. ;)
