- open "override.txt" (in GTA Vice City folder):
   drawdist 3.00  <- Multiplier
   loddist 450      <- DD for LOD objects

How to remove 3D grass?
- open gta_vc.dat (file in: ...GTA Vice City/data), scroll down and delete everything below "# Grass system"

How to disable/enable TRAILS?
- you can change it in the game options dialog

We couldn't make a good decision for a long time. Your opinions, comments and arguments let us see, that there is no perfect solution, no ideal option. We've decided to make a plan of development, which we would like to present you:

Vice Cry 1.8 is going to be released in next few weeks (from 3 to 10 weeks, approximately). It will feature everything we've done so far and we're proud of. The last part of the map we will renovate is Ocean Beach.

We're going to start the postproduction and final testing, and after that - bugfixing and optimization work.

The main archive is going to be divided into few smaller ones, containing particular grups of objects (vehicles, peds, weapons, not remodelled buildings, etc.).

Main archive's division into a few smaller ones is a consequence of 1.8's fluent development - we haven't done anything with peds nor weapons so far, but we will take care of them in the future. Thanks to this solution, our work and final patch installing process are going to be a lot easier and fast.

Furthermore, we've added one more addon made by non-team member, which is Adtec_224's plugin - and I'll be honest, we didn't receive any message from this author - we've been waiting for it since last year's september. If Adtec_224 shows up and don't let us use his plugin in Vice Cry, of course we will remove it, as soon as it's possible.

In the "Shakedown" mission where you have to shoot the stores at the mall. Whenever I finish it, it crashes when the Malibu Club pops up saying "Unhandled Exception at adress:..."

I installed Vice Cry 1.8 and the HOTFIX before starting the game but this issue keeps plaguing me, doesn't matter whether the game is on compatibility mode or not. I'd be glad if you were to fix this issue, since this is the first time I ever got so far into the Vice City storyline.

If you wish, I can hand you over my saves.

The fix is actually pretty simple, just skip the cutscene that starts after you shoot out the stores.

San Andreas? Nope, sorry. I'm speaking for myself right now, so I don't really know if Kov would like to make such a project in the future, but I certainly don't want to work on something like this.
Vice Cry took us a lot of time and I can't imagine recreating another game from the scratch, basically. Especially because it wouldn't be just retexturing - we would have to remodel hundreds of buildings and props. It's too much work for only two graphic designers. Well, honestly even "small" Vice City is actually too big and this is the main reason why Vice Cry 1.8 doesn't change 100% of enviroment models.
And finally, there's a lot of better or worse texture mods for San Andreas. As far as I know, there's not even one which improves and overhauls model wireframes, but still, you have few projects to choose.

well i understand that looks like im just going to have to wait for hrt 1.4 i hope flame calls some of his friends to help him making the SA project though and so this is your stop? this is the end of your project making? what about gta 3? (sorry for asking again)
