This mod aims at modifying Dawn of War 2 Retribution to portray combat in a more lore-accurate manner. Prepare to find Space Marines as powerful as the books depict them, ork hordes in their hundreds, and dozens of Guard tanks shelling into an incoming tyranid horde!
Description
3.4 full release Install the mod into your main Dow II retribution folder. Readme file included with Credits and instructions. Run either with Astartes.bat, or go to your Steam, go to Retribution, go to Properties, set launch options as "-modname Astartes" ,without the ""s. I recommend setting graphics to Ultra high before installing or mod may crash on space marines. Races , tactics, and units: Space marines heroes all have a separate race attached. Chapter commander is Adeptus Astartes, unlocking the contemporary 40k Space marines. Legion commander is Legiones Astartes, unlocking the 30k era late Great Crusade Space marines. Grey Knights commander is Daemonhunters, unlocking the Grey Knights. IG heroes are the same: Cadian commander unlocks the standard IG. Krieg commander unlocks the Krieg IG. Not suppressible, but fire slower if more powefully with their lasguns. Tau commander: Tau race, similar a bit to IG. Very weak in melee, but good at range with plasma weapons.

Hello, i like this mod, since I've started playing from 3.35
But, when i followed your instructions, the game just crashes and goes to the Relic support screen
You may have installed it in the wrong folder.
Check that your Dow2 retribution main folder has Astartes folder, Astartes.module and Astartes.bat files in it.

how do you get leviathan dreadnoughts?
Check the tutorials on this moddb page, you use the Emperor's Champion, Dark Apostle or Lieutenant to drop a beacon in tier 3.
My game keeps on crashing, what do I do?
Does it crash mid match or on startup or match loading?
If the former, its soundbug, discord has a guide how to mitigate some of it.
If its startup, your installation isn't correct.
If it is during match loading, set textures and models to the highest setting.
Game always seems to hang at the end of match splash art, it doesn't crash, it just hangs, and won't let me tab out, alt-f4, or pull up the task manager. Have to force a sign-out process for windows to close the game.
It takes longer to load the end screen due to recording and tallying kills.
Discord has a few ideas to reduce that.

Cavalry would need new animations which would be hard for now.

They stay for a random amount of time due to engine limits. Sometimes it is long.
Hello, the game crash when I played 3 vs 3 or 2 vs 2.
Check out the tips in discord how to lessen the impact. Orks are getting a fix next patch, and the other races should have less crashing already. Dow2 is 32 bit and its ram seems to run out, so try the 4gb patch in the pinned comments there.
I have an older version of this mod. Ver 3.19 I think? When I tried to install the latest 3.4 version over the top of it, it still launches as 3.19. How to fix?

When i click the last stand option the game always crash
This mod hasn't been made to work with Last stand, but if you are looking for that, Forgotten Emerald is exclusively going for it.
Windows Defender marks it as a trojan and automatically removes it.
I would suggest sending it to their lab as a false positive.
