What was Tumultus? Tumultus Deathmatch began as an experiment, with the sole aim of producing a comminity made mod. The story was set and anyone could produce anything and learn new things as they went along. This was all well and good, and it almost succeeded too. What is Tumultus? The premise is the same, most of the weapons are the same, with a few new surprises ;) The team has shrunk to a few dedicated members working on this mod alone, and everything is getting an overhaul.

Looks completely awesome. The only problem I see is that the trigger guard looks a tad thick.

the trigger guard and handle are a little too thick, its pretty noticable in the renders, but you can't really see them ingame so it doesnt make much difference. fixing it would require a lot of time for what would really just be a minor aesthetic fix, so for now, i'm just going to leave it, maybe later on when theres not so many other more pressing things to be done :)

Yeh, agreed with above, theres no need to make the whole model superhigh poly, you wont see half of it anyway. And it'll still look good from a world model perspective :)

uh...Erykegecko, you are working on the mod, you say that it will take more than the needed time to fix up that MINOR issue...

Firstly, the handle looks like it's made of ROCK, or that black/grey package foam.
secondly, how is a hand meant to fit around that handle, not to mention that grip further down the gun that looks like the grip on a pump action shotty, only square.

Alone the Dark, fixing these things up would not add all that many poly's, and it would definately be noticed in game , unless your player has some sort of square lego hands.

Don't just leave these things out Erykgecko, fixing it would require a bit of modelling (not much), a bit of re-texturing, re-rigging and then a bit more time getting the gun into the game again...the first bit would take about...15 mins, the texturing bit would probably take less time, the re-rigging, I don't know how long that would take...probably not long since you've already rigged the older model and you can just do the same thing, only have the hands of the player wrap around the rounded off parts a bit more, the coding to get the gun into the game is something that was already done, so that probably wouldnt take long at all...and then you can put it into the game...
That's what...1 hour MAX absolute MAXIMUM to get the game fixed up and in the game, and you are saying it would take alot of time...

I am not sure where the gun is on the players view, but...the handle probably isn't all that noticable and therefore won't have to be high poly, it should be off the screen anyway, however, that hand grip would be very noticable...so getting that fixed up would be nice.

Anyway...perhaps that is something you can work on in the next release. Other than that...everything else is cool on the gun, the maps look a little too small, but hey, it's meant to be like that...
Just a suggestion for maps to come...try making a maze map, that should be fun with 4 people ;)

yeah, it probably wouldnt take that long to do, but realistically, its not even onscreen when you;re holding it, what little you do see during the reload the hand does actually fit around it ok. tbh, I've rigged and animated all but the cx4 and to go back and do it now.. it's just something that really isnt high on my list of priorities, the polycount for it would onlu be increased by a few polys anyway, so thats not really an issue, its just a case that i'd have to edit the reference model, and then that would change it in all the animations, but then the hands would be out in all the animations.

What I will do, Is modify it on the world model, that way when youre running around and pick it up, it'll look the right size, but its really just not an issue on the view model as you don't see it.

I'm currently working on a map, it's coming along pretty well considering I'm no mapper

Design & model = rulz
Skin = suck

But that's how it is with most mods.
They lack proper skinners.
