This mod is a “Revival”, that is, a continuation of the original Trek Wars mod made by SMG Modding team. The “original” Revival team (led by Kavok) added factions such as the Klingons, Romulans and Dominion as opposed to the SMG Modding Team that had only added the Federation. Now, a new team, led by Imperial aim to continue these teams’ great work by refining their work and adding brand new content. Our progress has been slow, but we have been working on a new release that will add a lot of new content, and with the help of new team members, our team is producing more content than ever before!

Welcome! This mod has very a long way to go, but here's what's been done so far, and what my aims are and requirements in order to complete it.

This mod has been picked up and carried on from where the SMG Modding team left off with their excellent "Trek Wars" mod for Star Wars: Empire at War Forces of Corruption, which added the United Federation of Planets (from the TNG era) as a playable faction.

So far I have managed to add some fixes to the Federation ships, including missing voiceovers and weapons sound effects (borrowed from Star Trek Armada 1 and 2). Currently I am working on getting the Klingons into the game, I have managed to get the B'rel class Bird of Prey in so far (check out the screenshots) and currently working on the others, all with models converted from Aad Moermann's excellent Armada 2 models. Once the Klingons have been added I will release an Alpha version for everybody to try out.

I would like to re-instate ground battles, this will probably be one of the hardest objectives as we never see any of the Star Trek races using tanks, however the excellent TOS Alliance mod has shown what can be done. Eventually I would like to add the Dominion and Romulans too, and have some more Galactic Conquests maps.

Currently I am a 1 man band, and struggling for time some days to make effective work on this mod. In order to complete the mod I will need some help, particularly regarding modelling, AI scripting and race balancing. If you would like to volunteer to help with this project, please don't hesitate to contact me.

You need any help with XML or MTD work? I can help with those. I'm also at least somewhat capable of texturing, provided I know how the model is mapped, but I lack the hardware to create or properly edit .ALO files, so modeling, rigging, and mapping are all out of the question.

I suppose I can try my hand at AI stuff as well, though I haven't done much in the way of that when it comes to modding EAW.

A note on the topic of ground vehicles: Honestly, from what we see in star trek, where the lowliest hand phaser is capable of such immense firepower, it makes sense that there wouldn't be any tanks or similar combat vehicles. All the same, it might be cool to include the Argo buggies from the Nemesis movie.

I could try my hand at concept work for other vehicles, but that's as far as it goes for canon stuff, it seems.

Thanks for offering, I am coping ok with the XML's ok and have been able to edit the icons file with the MTD editor, however another pair of hands is always help. :)

Thanks for the link, I would like to include the Argo in the mod too, perhaps with an ability allowing for it to travel at "unsafe velocities". I am happy to include non-cannon items for ground forces, the people who created the TOS Alliance mod pulled this off very nicely.

I would be very happy for you to try some concept work. :)

I thought of using runabouts as gunships in my personal version of trek wars but i never could get the federation ground bases working. Now that i've figured out how to add new factions i might give it another go.

That's great, let me know how you get on. Once I've finished up adding in the Klingons I will create a test version for release amongst anybody who wants to test the mod if you want to give it a try out.

I am a big fan of Star Trek and I think this revival may be one of the best mods here at ModDB. I was wondering if I could be a betatester for the mod!
