Tour of Duty is a realistic team play mod for Halflife by Valve Software. The game is set at the height of the Vietnam war, between 1967 and 1973 allowing you to relive the conflict fighting either for the United States Marine Corp (USMC) or the Viet Cong (VC)/North Vietnamese Army (NVA).
The mod features realistic weapons of the period, and a number of gameplay styles including control point capture, demolition or bombing missions, capture the flag/radio/codemachine and escape and evasion are the currently coded styles.
We are also planning on adding rescue missions, where you'll rescue a general or famous figure.
We've added support for some vehicles that players can ride into the action in, with guns 'ablazing', right now, we have a huey that players ride to the bomb target zone, and have plans for PT boats in future levels.

Tour of Duty 1.3 is finally released. There are a few fixes and a few additions. However we are sorry to say that this is the final patch for Tour of Duty for HL1. It is in no way the final game but we will no longer be working on it. The file can be found on file planet at Fileplanet.com. Also to go along with the last patch for Tour of Duty we have a new website to go with it. So head over there and check out the new design and read the whole release news. Wow it's been a long time since I have been here. Im Matrix the old webmaster for ToD and was the guy that had the only league for tod. Just thought I would stop in and say hello. Any one remember the Pool ;)

This mod was amazing :[ I wish it was still around :/ Back in it's glory days before steam came out there were thousands of players active--it had SO much potential :/ Terrible to see it so dead :[ ... Some of my most memorable moments in gaming come from this game ... ambushing 5+ people while hiding in bushes or the broken chopper in cp_jungle or playing an intense 5v5 on cp_bravo ... even though it wasn't the best game in the world, I had more fun playing ToD than any other game I've ever played ... good times ... good times

old tod player here.. used to go by the name of newbster or something like that. god that game was amazing...by far hands down best map was danang.. nothin better than a server full of ppl shootin across the dark section or always finding your buddy behind the jeep..god that game was amazing..so when is someone gonna bring it back!?!!

did somebody mention |=BoH=|...god this brings me back...i havent played in ages... i wish that someone would revive this mod for source...it would be amazing...i can still remember spending hours nonstop on the old =DirtyDozen= server...and yes...who could ever forget Special Delivery's well...special delivieries...the biggest problem with this mod was that the development just went too slow...i remember i even tried to have BBGun teach me how to map just to try and help out but that never really panned out...too many player just got tired of waiting for updates and moved on to other games...i remember at one point most of the original BoH became a little less active and everyone else jumped ship over to Call of Duty...if ToD ever makes a comeback youll be sure to find me hiding in the bush...remember...Charlie Dont Surf

...her and i took on the =DirtyDozen= in my first ever match as part of BoH...even though we played outnumbered 2 vs 7 we almost won...those were the days
