Tiberium Dusk is a re-imagining of the Kane's Wrath universe in a way I feel better fits canon, as EA did a pretty poor job with the C&C franchise continuity from Tiberium Wars onwards. This mod doesn't change anything with regards to the story but helps add elements to the gameplay that "fill the gaps" and provide a more Tiberian Sun esque experience (including all its flaws and unbalances) and departs away from the Kane's Wrath RTS formula. Still a work in progress, I've made changes to the AI (buffed turtle AI and made brutals harder), made changes to "Militant Squads" which make them work with the timeline of the franchise, changed the "Nod" faction entirely with a new name, as Kane's Wrath "Nod" works more of a splinter faction rather than a true "Brotherhood"; with Marked of Kane being the new face of the faction. There are also numerous changes to GDI and Scrin, especially Reaper 17 and Steel Talons, which make them play significantly differently.

The final news article before the release of 1.24! The main changes to Tiberium Dusk before the release will be mostly polishing and cosmetic, to ensure that the release goes fairly smoothly and mostly bug-free. :) Considered to be the "infantry" update, 1.24 aims to take the first step in making infantry in Tiberium Wars more exciting and useful, rather than simply having them as spammable cannon fodder. I hope everyone will enjoy the upcoming update. ^^

Tiberium Dusk v1.24 - Marked of Kane gameplay

Final news article before the release of 1.24!

Seen in the above video you can see the new changes to gameplay to Marked of Kane in Tiberium Dusk 1.24. There have been fairly large changes across all the factions: But some of the visible changes in the video include:

  • Improved Light Infantry Squads, Tiberian Sun sounds, new "firing" pattern, now fires in blasts with a 0.7 second delay between blasts, rather than constant fire. Does considerable damage per blast.
  • "Tiberian Sun" style Rocket Soldiers. Fires a high arcing missile with inaccuracy against moving targets, but with an autoloader allowing for a very high rate of fire compared to other rocket squads. Extremely effective when garrisoned. Classic sound effects and voices implemented. Costs 500 credits.
  • "Tiberian Sun" style Cyborgs. Now feature heavy burst-chainguns. Absolutely devastating in groups with a high rate of fire in the burst, but a moderate length reload time after bursting. Very effective when grouped with Rifle Squads and using the EMP to stall tanks. Cannot be crushed. Costs 700 credits.
  • Cyborg Commando: Now an official Epic Unit, except its the ONLY epic unit to be considered "infantry". Extremely powerful. Equipped with a custom green flamer on his right arm, and a Plasma Cannon on his left. The commander can choose what weapon the Commando wields at his will. The flamer is the most devastating flamethrower in the game, and can be fired whilst the commando is on the move, leading to amusing situations when charging him into infantry. The Plasma Cannon forces the Commando to stop to fire, to counter its recoil. Deals devastating damage to vehicles and moderate damage to structures. The Cyborg Commando suffers when it encounters an army of units, but is extremely effective providing the commander can get him near a base undetected; being easily able to dispatch small forces and raze buildings to the ground rapidly. Cybernetic legs upgrade is a must for this unit. Costs 4000 credits and costs 40 seconds to build.

This is ontop of all the other Marked of Kane changes.

The new gore system is fully working in the above video too, no longer does it have the issue of fade time for the gore splatters.

The new "Epic Unit" requirements are showcased in the video, with superweapons having to be purchased before a user can acquire an epic unit, however superweapons now only cost 3000 credits and it makes superweapons a more important logical step in the build-queue in late game.

Scrin Disintegrator weapon changes can be noted in the video, and gunwalkers less so; however the gun-walker rebalance is still present.

Finally, a proper showcase of the multiplayer map "Hell Island" is shown in the video to give players an idea of what it is like to play.

Hell Island is now fully working now over multiplayer and has instructions of how to install in the new readme.

Looking forward to releasing it soon! :)

Thanks, glad to see Marked of Kane got some much needed love. Could you consider adding some late game units to it? Like a powerful air unit perhaps ?
Best regards

That's already in the pipeline.

I'll add the Banshee when I get around to it. :)

I don't plan on it working like other Tibwars Mod banshees though, I want it to accurately replicate the Tiberian Sun version. Trying to make it functionally wise as close as possible is actually part of the fun. :P
